Which builder built this house?!

The plans will certainly show who drew them (architect?) and might possibly show the name of the client (the developer/builder). But the planning application itself will show who applied for planning permission i.e. the developer

Just phoned that number during lunch, and it was a company called Bett Homes in Scotland..... they deal with homes in the Scotland and the North of England....
I knew I was in trouble when, after I said the house was in Kent, she asked if that was North East or North West England....! I kid you not! :eek:0 -
Also phoned the local council during lunch, and spoke with firstly an assistant in the planning dept, and then a planning officer. Neither could help though.... They found the property details but the builder wasnt listed. They suggested I contact the NHBC.....0

What I think I'd do, is phone up the agent it's on with and say you are possibly wanting to view the house, but firstly want to know which builder built it and they can politely ask the vendor and come back to you and you can say you'll check with other half and get back to them with an appointment. If they ask why say you have lived in a new build before and had problems so you want to make sure which builder it is.
Normally only 2 developers build on certain sites. We are in Yorke gate and both Admiral homes and Linden Homes built on it.The site up the road, the Hambledon development had Charles Church and Bellway homes build. It's just finding the right 2 builders!!!
Don't know what else to suggest?0 -
Just emailing a friend for you as she lives near there and am sending her the picture from the website and she can ask around her office too.0

Already tried the agent before we put an offer in, but they didnt have a clue apart from saying it looks like a Bovis or a Redrow.....! Tried a couple of other agents in the town and they also didnt know.... Think I'm destined never to find out!
Thanks again though.... keep them coming! :beer:0 -
Sorry friend was no good, just said she thought it was one of the big companies, like Bovis or Bryant.
Are you actually in process of buying this property???
If so, I think the EA has been lazy saying he doesn't know ,he should be able to ask the owners as they will know who built it if they had it from new.
If not your solicitor should have something on the title deeds by now and it will say who had the permission to build it.0
