Seems pointless. Unless your proper old I wouldn't bother, it shows your age0

I'd have one in a minute. Old fashioned or not, they're practical and you can clean specific areas without having to fully strip as you would if you went into the shower.
Handy at certain times of the month if you get my drift.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Oh i love to have one fitted as well. You can always get a hand held bidet shower http://www.nature4energy.co.uk/Bidetshowers.html
Trouble is it connects to cold pipe which will be cold to use in the UK.They have them ever where in India and most times the water is too hot coming out of it there !Finally - Ask your self, if a piece of poo landed on your arm would you be happy to just wipe it away with a piece of toilet paper?
I ask myself that very question every day...:D"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

We manage to shower and use a bidet!
They're good for freshening up, especially in hot, humid weather. My OH seems particularly fond of using it with just cold water the day after a very hot curry, can't imagine why :rotfl:0 -
Yes, if you have space I would definitely get one. Extremely useful for women of any age during menstruation, but during the horrendous 'flooding' I experienced in the menopause, I found it absolutely invaluable. Sorry if this is too much information, but you did ask.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

After reading the post about using it for the dogs I want one now - it would be great for that!0

Having gone through my teenage years never quite sure how you used one (or why...
) I became a bidet convert whilst living abroad. I wouldn't hesitate if you've got the space, but only if you want one, as they're not to everyones taste if you plan to sell soon. Mind you I know one person that uses his for dirty washing & another for pot plants! [edit-plants in pots, not 'pot' plants]
I've seen those little hose things in various countries & they're good if you don't have the space for a separate bidet. A couple of my friends have said they're even better than a bidet after giving birth as you can run it whilst you're peeing which helps if you've [STRIKE]been ripped to bits whilst squeezing out a watermelon [/STRIKE] had stitches.0 -
Great posts thanks all. It's now 12 for and 10 against.
We are not old, and I don't have any 'monthly' worries, I can't really compere my husbands backside to anyone else's but hairyness doesn't seem to be a problem! He just thinks that everytime we go away and there is a bidet he uses it. I think the novelty will wear off (the boys and toys thing) and it will be a waste of money - approx £250 plus fitting and labour. We are moving into a house and making a new bathroom so space is just about there without compromising on other things. I'm in control of the planning so I could be a bit devious, unless I thought it was worth it.
The other question - as we still need to think of people who will buy it after us - is, would it be useful to other people and would they see it as a useful addition to their bathroom?0
