I'd rather have a bidet than a hose.....

Oh i love to have one fitted as well/ You can always get a hand held bidet shower http://www.nature4energy.co.uk/Bidetshowers.html
As long as you fit a non-return valve otherwise there is the possibility of back syphonage if you drop it in the pan. And it is a requirement under WRAS that you obtain your water suppliers consent to fit one by giving them advance notice - mind you that applies to a bidet with an ascending spray or a flexi hose as well.
Trouble is it connects to cold pipe which will be cold to use in the Uk.
    Fit a blending valve then.
.....ever where in India and most times the water is too hot coming out of it there!
and they have a different approach via-a-vis Water Regulations in India as well!

Please, someone with a bidet, explain what they use them for?

I always turn off the water at the wall whenever I visit anyone with a bidet to see if they even notice. Only once has anyone ever said "Why's the bidet stopped working?"

The wife goes spare when she catches me sitting on the sink using her flannel.

Well, if Rotor is serious (!!) thats 5 for and 5 against so far, which doesn't help much! Def. don't want any messy hose attachments, so come on folks we need to make a decision here....

If you have the space (not at the expense of anything else) and the money, I'd put one in. JMO.

Don't know if you're still interested but anyway...

Yes I think they're great and OH is now an enthusiastic convert.

You don't need a non-return valve if you have an above the rim tap, rather than a spray. We chose this because even with a good thermostatic valve we still get the odd surprise temperature under the shower, and certainly wouldn't fancy that on a bidet! (We have an all mains pressure water system, so could be different for others.)

Old fashioned and I can't really see how you'd use it without getting your clothes all wet or your hands/flannel/sponge all dirty.

Wouldn't dream of having one unless I married into a French family.

My parents have put them into all their houses. I find a little strange and would rather wash my bits in the shower?!
