  • :o Aww, you're making me blush. I don't know whether to be flattered or panicked that everyone wants to come round to mine for tea ;) I learnt to cook due to my own not much money / too much weight / not much energy because eating badly combo. Meals like the tomato-ey pasta thingy really helped. I've still got lots to learn though so I'm always open to new ideas.

Beans on toast. Never tried it with cheese...so obvious, why didn't I think of that?!

We do baked beans in the microwave with cheese and a chopped onion - lovely on toast.

Eggy soldiers is my 'illy' food too. It's one of the few things DH can cook.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Ours is Gnocchi and HM sauce if I've any in the freezer. If not it's passata with some pesto mixed in. It takes literally 3 minutes to cook the gnocchi and about the same to heat the sauce. Even my 2yo loves it.

  • Pasta cooked in a mushroom cuppa soup, the soup tikens to a nice sauce and you can always add some cheese!

Scrambled eggs with any from the following mixed in. Chilies, Onions, Salsa, Spring onion, Garlic, Goat or Sheep Cheese (I am allergic to moo cow cheese) or tinned fish. Toast or pitta or sallad on the side, and chili sauce.

My "cant be bothered" food is also my "what food do you eat that you are thoroughly ashamed of"

Heinz oxtail soup ( BSE soup my dad calls it )
Heinz sausages & beans in a tin ( what are those sausages made of? )

    Otherwise
    its beans on toast
    bowl of cereal
or just toast & peanut butter
    or crisp sandwich

Ive put on so much weight since OH moved in, all these proper meals I make! I couldnt serve him a quavers sandwich for his tea - weve only been together a year ( give it another 12 months!)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
