Only 3 more payments. What an achievement. You have been so consistent and disciplined in paying off this debt. As you say you have learned a new way of dealing it's money that will never leave you. You are going to love being debt free and able to make choices about how to spend your money. So pleased for you. X0

Thank you CBC, I still can't believe I've got to this stage. I had credit cards for nearly 30 years so not only will I be debt-free but I will also be better off than I have been for most of my adult life:eek:
You may think you are plodding but those numbers will start to reduce quite quickly now you are beyond the halfway point.
I'm happy to think that I may have been a help to you on your journey and I hope I'm around to cheer you over the finish line too;)
Take care

Hello Chris,
Good to see you. At least your OH is back home again;)
If I can do this, you most definitely can. You just have to keep plugging away bit by bit until it's all gone:cool:
Take care and a Happy New Year to you and your family

...and so into 2017 we go!
A Happy New Year to you all;)
I am having to pinch myself at the moment that I will be debt-free in just 8 weeks time:j:j:j
Who would have thought 6 and a half years ago that the day would come when I really would be debt-free. I am so excited, I want to tell everyone I meet but it's my secret and I have to stop myself from blurting it out:o So, you my virtual friends are the only ones I share this secret with;)
Coming back to earth for a moment, I now have two more payments to make and then I'm done. I've said before that the lessons I have learnt will stay with me for the rest of my life and I really do mean that. I'm already budgeting for Christmas 2017 and putting my ££'s away each day.
We're also now edging closer to more defaults dropping off our credit files (although our scores are appalling but we don't worry about them).
I'm still setting milestones as I go and that's where 8 weeks comes from, it was a bit of a shock when I realised it was only weeks away. I was thinking 3 payments = 3 months but in effect my last payment is 1st March so that was a welcome bonus;)
I hope you are all on track with your own debt-busting and believe me, if I can do it so can you:D
Take care
