When do you expect to be debt free? I think you deserve to be excited. It has been a long hard journey so you should enjoy the prospect of the final payment and allow yourself to dream and plan for your debt free future. It is a wonderful feeling that never really goes away after you have got out from under the burden of debt. Well done and good luck.

Thank you Moneywhizz, I expect to be debt free February 2017. It has been a long hard slog but I have learnt so many valuable lessons on the way...and they will stay with me for the rest of my life;)

  • This month sees our total debt dip under 4k to £3,967 which means I have paid back 91.40%:j:j

This is a massive boost to me, knowing I have just under 10% left to pay and I have just checked Noddle and we are now 3/5 on our credit score. I know the score doesn't mean anything and it's the history that counts but still it all moving in the right direction;)

I just need to be patient now, I really can't believe just how close I am to being debt free.

The hardest months are coming up when OH has no work but this will be the last time I have to tighten my belt quite so much. The lessons I have learnt over the last 6 or so years have been invaluable and will stay with me for the rest of my life.

    Take care all

Not long to go until your debt free life starts......
  • It's so close now, Ellie:dance:. You should be so proud of yourself especially as you've carried the burden for you and DH practically single-handedly:A

Looking forward to the next inspiring instalment:)
  • Thank you everyone for your kind words, they motivate me and help me to stay focussed;)

I'm still grinning at the fact my debt is under 4k, heaven knows how I will be when I'm debt free:D

    Hello everyone,

A step closer again this month to being free from debt:D I'm in touching distance of 3k

On checking my Noddle account today, I have found 2 defaults have gone...Hooray:)

I have also finished paying another CC so that's now 3 debts paid and 8 left to go. The remaining debts are all now in the hundreds of pounds rather than thousands;)

Bit of a carp month car wise, I broke down on the motorway and had to be towed to a garage. Luckily, the cost of repair was less than I expected so that wasn't too bad but now the lights are causing a problem and I have to have the headlights replaced, the electrics have packed up so I can't open the windows and the air conditioning has stopped working:( I just hope it lasts me a while longer.

    Take care all
