June already! The time is flying by so quickly.
We are now under 6K in our quest to be debt-free:j I can't remember when we owed so little:o
Now only 9 debts left (originally 11) and there are only 2 over 1K with the remaining debts in the hundred's
We are hurtling towards 90% paid back and I am starting to feel quite excited by the prospect of actually being debt-free:cool:
Been a busy weekend, I have started to do some volunteer work and yesterday did an over 50's launch within the community...met some fantastic people with some great stories to tell, basked in the sunshine and mingled with new found friends. What a rewarding day and didn't cost me a penny:D
Today spending a lovely afternoon with my precious grandson;)
Take care

Hi Ellie
Firstly, sincere condolences on the passing of your cat. We have three cats and absolutely adore them, so fully undersand your loss. I hope that the fact he had a good life, was loved by you and gave lots of love and companionship back is some comfort.
It is good to hear that your debt-free status is becoming approaching and proves that determination and willpower can solve any problem.
My OH is now back on Merseyside as her job in the North East did not become permanent. She got a new job within one week of returning and hopes this will become a permanent post in time.

Hi Chris,
Good to hear from you and thanks for your condolences. 5 weeks on now since our cat passed away and we still feel so sad, we miss him so much but you are right, he had a good life and gave us so much pleasure, we look back now on all the happy times we shared.
Your OH really does have a rollercoaster ride on the job front but luckily she is able to get jobs quickly. Fingers crossed this one is permanent.
Hope all is well with you;)

July already! Cannot believe how quickly this year is passing:o
Debt busting continues and we are ever closer to that elusive debt-free date;)
We now only have 1 credit card over 1k (and 8 below:o) - three more payments to go until the next one is paid off and then they should go in quick succession.
BC continue to apply interest and this is our biggest debt so I don't think we will be debt-free by the end of the year but it won't be too far away. I tried to get them to stop the interest but they are having none of it so I just keep going and once everything is paid back, I will fight to remove the AP markers on my file.
OH is very busy work wise so this makes all the difference and the purse strings can be relaxed a little.
I have been using YNAB for a year now and it is amazing where all the money goes. On my pie chart there is a little sliver showing spending money and treats but in reality I don't feel as though I am missing out on much (holidays maybe but try not to think that way).
Busy, busy at work which is good and I think I can finally stop looking for jobs. It's been hard to adapt to not being continually working away but I'm nearing 60 so I don't think it is a bad thing and I do still go away from time to time.
Do I dare start thinking about being debt-free??:oDebt Free 1st March 2017

Edging ever closer to my DFD, we are now under 5K!!!! I can't remember the last time I owed so little;)
I find this is a strange period, I am close to being debt-free but daren't think too much about what I'm going to do next until all that debt is gone. I keep thinking it's too good to be true and something will happen stopping me from being free...maybe I will wake up and this will all have been a dream and I will still owe £46k+:eek:
Just getting on with life, no major news or events happening, just chipping away slowly but surely. I've learnt so much over the past 6 years and these lessons I will carry with me for the rest of my life:)
Take care all

When do you expect to be debt free? I think you deserve to be excited. It has been a long hard journey so you should enjoy the prospect of the final payment and allow yourself to dream and plan for your debt free future. It is a wonderful feeling that never really goes away after you have got out from under the burden of debt. Well done and good luck.0
