We're into single figures this month!!!!:D
We now have approx. 9 more payments to go after this month's DD is taken tomorrow and I am itching to update my signature but will wait until the payment goes out of my account.
The last payment to our overdraft is this month so that's two debt's down and nine to go;)
Not much else to report really, just keeping on going towards the finish line.;)

I've posted all my highs and lows on this diary and today is one of the lowest moments I have had for a long time...our much loved cat died last night and we are heartbroken:(
He was old and getting towards 20 but he looked so young. He simply went out into the garden and we found him dead a short while later. We will miss him so much, he was a little character, full of fun and mischief:sad: He loved the garden, the Spring and the sunshine and he looked so peaceful.
We have some wonderful memories and he will live on in our hearts.
It enforces my belief that there are some things far more precious than money and puts life into perspective. I carry on towards my goal of becoming debt-free but perhaps I am not in such a hurry to wish my life and those of my loved ones away.
Take care

I'm so sorry Ellie, it's heartbreaking to lose a pet. He sounded like a wonderful chap, and he was obviously much loved.0

Oh, Ellie, that is such sad news. My heart goes out to you:kisses3:
I know just how awful it feels to lose a much-loved pet. Our first cat died just two weeks short of her 20th birthday. People used to think I was exaggerating her age as she seemed so kittenish in lots of ways but I got all her vet's paperwork out (vaccinations, spaying at 6 months old etc) as proof to convince myself that I wasn't mistaken more than anything. The dated documents didn't lie!
Although in excellent health she developed a tumour in her mouth and the vet said she was too old to withstand the anaesthetic for an operation. We had to have her put to sleep. It was the worst day of my whole life, in fact I don't think anything has been as bad since and there have been more than a few terrible days:(. We were heartbroken when she died, we were so upset that we decided we couldn't go through that again and decided not to have another cat, ever.
Eventually, years later, the cat we have now turned up as a tiny, bedraggled hungry stray kitten and we couldn't resist him. I'd originally thought I'd build him up a bit, have him checked by the vet and then try to find a good home for him but I just couldn't part with him. He's 8 now and has been such a joy to us but even last night I was in pieces because I had to break up a major fight between him and a massive bully-boy cat that comes along from time to time and attacks him. Our boy seems OK but won't venture far from my side and has refused his food.
People who don't have pets don't always understand how devastating it is to lose a much-loved pet, I found sympathy lacking from some of my work colleagues at the time:o
I really feel for you, Ellie. I know you'll have wonderful memories to treasure and when the numbness wears off they'll give you strength.
Take care of yourself xxx0 -

I know what you mean, I cried solidly for two days when I lost my first cat, and was upset for ages - even I was shocked at how upsetting it was.
I also vowed no more pets, and have gone on to have another three (three!!!) cats, which has helped.0 -
I'm sorry for your loss.. They do get into our hearts don't they? ((Hugs))LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Sending hugs Ellie ((( ))) so sorry to hear your cat has passed away.
I don't know how to phrase this without sounding odd but I am pleased that he died in a place he loved and he did not suffer and he would have known how loved he was.
I am a cat lover and have 4 at the moment. The devastation when a pet passes away is indescribable - I cried more when my cat was put to sleep last year than I did when my Grandmother died. My cat was about 18 and she had started going downhill for a while and when we took her to the vet he said she had a tumour on her kidneys, we tried anti-biotics and painkillers but she did not change so a week later she was put to sleep - now I wish we had it done at the first appointment as it was so hard having her at home knowing she would be put to sleep the next week.
But when my cats have just gone missing I don't even cry - we live in the countryside so they can go for days and I never worry. Then a few days becomes a week and then a few weeks and then months and before I know it they have been gone for 6 months and DH and I agree to accept that they have moved on. I like to think they have found a new home which is even better than ours - the alternative does not bear thinking about.0 -
Thank you all for your lovely comments and your understanding. He really was a big part of our family and we miss him so much.
I understand totally what you are saying EE, we are taking some comfort from the fact that he looked so peaceful and was in the garden where he loved the sunshine.
I'm the same Golightly, he wanders into my mind and I end up in tears. My OH commented that he feels as bad now as when his father died:(
We said we wouldn't have any more cats CBC but who knows in the future?
