Yep, like Browntoa say its normal (looks vile though, doesnt it ). i recommend you shake it before you use it as it seems to me to be thinner at the top after freezing.0
-
phew! thanks, I was a little worried, never frozen milk before!0

Your milk will be fine. I remember when we used to be told we couldn't freeze milk. I always freeze a couple of bottles. Like Carly says just shake it well.-When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0

I already do that with fruit juice, and if I don't use a full lemon/lime at a time, I squeeze the juice out and freeze it - also freeze the zest of lemons, lime, and oranges. Sorry I digress.0 -
Hi all. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weekend weather.
Just a query that may have already been dealt with elsewhere, if so, sorry:o
We live in the middle of nowhere and our nearest 'cheaper' supermarkets are 14 miles away. The local village shops have closed except one 4 miles away whose prices are exorbitant:eek:, and there is no longer a milkman delivering.
I'd like to stock up on milk when I'm doing my monthly shop but am not sure if freezing it is possible.
I saw adverts for Cravendale milk which says it is freezable, but it isn't available where I shop. I tried freezing one of the smallest-size plastic bottles of semi-skimmed milk on Friday but it seems to have turned a yellowish colour in the bottle. I haven't thawed it yet to see if it tastes OK but it certainly looks strange:eek:
I've read on MSE somewhere about people freezing milk. Is semi-skimmed OK for this and does it go a funny colour usually?
All advice very gratefully received. Will be doing monthly shop later this week and would like to stock up on milk!!!0 -
Yes you can freeze it, it goes a bit yellow because it separates, when it's defrosted give it a shake and it'll be fine.Bulletproof0

I also freeze milk - it is worth having a few pint cartons in store as well as the larger cartons in case of emergencies - ie:you forget to get them out in time7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0
