Freezing Milk

Yeah freezing milk is fine....
If you use it in tea / coffee then it might be a good idea to feeze some in icecube trays then you only need to drop one or two in a hot drink instead of defrosting a whole bottle....
Another option is to get the UHT cartons of milk. We live off that stuff now and never buy normal milk anymore. I used to hate the taste of UHT milk but the value skimmed stuff just taskes like normal semi-skimmed to me....

yep freezing is fine! UHT skimmed in coffee and tea doesn't taste any different though a bit odd on cereal beggars can't be choosers. In Italy and southern France it is difficult to get fresh milk they use UHT all the time. Another good standby is dried milk which you can make up and use as fresh.0

Yep, it works! It did take much longer to defrost than I expected though, it was a 4 pint carton but don't get it out in the morning when you go to work and assume it'lll be done by the time you get home like I did!0

skimmed milk doesn't freeze very well as it goes a funny texture but semi and full fat milk both freeze well.0

i always freeze milk in the 4 pint bottles, to speed up the defrosting i put it in the washing up bowl with cold water, and change the water as it ices up around the bottle. i make sure i give it a good shake before i use itWord for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗0

UHT long life is a lot cheaper too - 38p a litre for Tesco value which tastes fine. And doesn't take up freezer space either. i buy it to keep me out of shops on a day to day basis and it works0

38p? Are you sure? I buy the UHT milk and my last carton (litre) was 54p. Do you mean the pint cartons maybe? They are around 38-39p.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Yeah, i regularly freeze the 2l bottles as we seem to go thru about 2 in 3 days so I'd be at the shop all the time otherwise.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0

I am pleased with myself here, a year ago I wouldn't have known thatThanks for making me smile...
edit tho...maybe we're talking about different things, just realised I'm not sure that it is UHT but it is definitely milk0 -
I tried freezing milk, but I found that once defrosted it goes off much quicker that it otherwise would.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
