annie i used to have these gorgous brown flip flop sandals, bought them for £2 out of an asian material shop. I was so chuffed with them, they made out of jute and cotton. I used to wear them everywhere, beach, sand, climbed cliffs, went to festivals trawled the ocean etc You name they went in it.
I had them for about 7 years and then they died a death, as my cat decided to eat yes, she sat there and ate three quarters of my sandals. All that was left was the sequinned bit at the front. Luckily the vet said ah well she least she's roughage down her and doesn't need to have stomach pumped.

    I was absolutely devastated.

You are always so busy gailey:)

I have just made some stuffing, used the processor to make bread and before I washed it, I threw in some bread, sage picked from the garder and some onion. I love it cold in chicken sandwiches.
My herbs are so prolific this year, just picked loads of parsely and sage and putting in the freezer now

I used to be in love, and i mean in love! with a pair of gorgeous very very dark purple suede boots, they fitted me perfectly, didnt hurt my feet and were toasty and warm in the winter...until my 'newly aquainted larger legged friend' wanted to borrow them, my legs are scrawny (my upper arms are larger than my calf) and i told her they wouldn't fit 5 times before she busted the zip trying to get it passed her 'cankle'

They were from faith, i cherished them for 9 years, re-heeled them, re-soled them, waterproofed the suede etc etc.

    I was genuinely devastated

I have a pair of 5 year old light brown Flyflot mules which are stained and tatty, make me look like baglady but who cares, they are really comfy! I suppose I could try tarting them up a bit, try and get the stains out and put some bling on them?

I saw the item on the morning news about items going on sale for 'the big C' in some of the shops next week.
I am all for getting ahead like many of you on here. Last week I bought a toy each for my grandsons & today I started stitching two cross stitch tree ornaments for them as every year I give them a new ornament each for their tree.
Bought them as kits at 25p each in CS last year & then put them away 'safely' & didn't rediscover them again until the other week. Have already done over half of one whilst waiting for customers to come in. It makes a change from reading & sudoko puzzles.

With regards to the 'purple' spray to treat the dogs paws. When I worked as a herdsman we used this stuff on the cows but if I remember correctly it contained an antibiotic & was only available from a vet.

Annie - don't throw out the sandals until you've tried a good old fashioned cobbler - one of mine was chewed by a pup years ago, I took it to the cobbler along with bits of it I found in the garden and lo! he repaired it so I could wear them for a few more years, may they RIP.
I just love all my favourite shoes and boots and wear them until the fall apart so badly that they can't be repaired.

No funnily enough i've not seen her since! I was rather  though, said some horrible things about her lack of hearing, intelligence and why on earth did she think we were the same size? (she also ruined a 'new romantics' silk blouse by ripping the back).

No one goes in to my wardrobe now and if anyone asks to borrow my shoes i tell them i have a nasty verucca.
