    Thanks Ceridwen:)
The past 3 or4 years have been hard. Her being unemployed has caused a lot of worry for me. She was living independantly, but had to return twice to live with me and her stepfather and had gotten herself into debt as a result of losing her job.

But she has pulled herself up again and at the moment, all is right in her world and therefore, all is right in mine too.:T
Your child is your child for life, even when they are young adults.

My parents are now very elderly - but my mother would tell you that they are still your "child" even when they are middle-aged themselves...:rotfl:

I tell her "I've got grey hairs now myself and if I can't look after myself by now then there's something very wrong....". I haven't been able to persuade her to believe me yet....

LOL, mine is in her early twenties and we have had to help her. I couldn't have not helped her.
But, to be fair, she has pulled herself back up, albeit with our help. I am so relieved for her sake, because at one stage, I think that she was very depressed and down.
She seems to be so happy now, boyfriend, job and her life has changed for the better.:T
She is like a different girl.:)

;) Felines are my favourite ;)

IF you think of the war Ceridwen, people went to work daily and didn't know if their workplace would be standing when they got there - then didn't know if their house would be standing when they got home. So they just got on with it - one day at a time -(want me to sing ??? You wouldnt like it if I sang...!)

Congratulations on your sons' job ginnyknit - I know how relieved you must be :j:j.

My OH starts his new job on Thursday (I know - odd day isn't it) and is starting to get a bit nervous (though he would never admit it ;)). All our family and friends are thrilled to bits for him :D - it's feels a bit odd as a job is something we all take for granted (though obviously, not any more :().

Ooh Mardatha - my fave pagan granny you......you have just asked for a chorus of:

"One day at a time Sweet Jesus....that's all I'm asking of you....."

Mardatha now makes a hasty exit...stage left...thinking "Now why did I just open my mouth?":rotfl:

annie - sorry about your sandals x

Ginny - great news about your son getting a job:j:T also well done to Parsonswife's DD:T - I totally understand how you feel about your daughter as I feel the same about my lads - if they are happy then so am I.

DSs have been told they have to have a phone interview before signing on so will get them straight onto that. To sign on they will have to travel 10 miles to our nearest job centre and there's no public transport there. DS1 drives so hopefully they can go together.
    Do what you love :happyhear

well im in shick t how much a basic weeks shopping costs now for us all. Meat consumption is just twice a week now unless its yellow stickered
Sadly our grow your own efforts havent paid off for the 2nd year running so things arent looking fantastic for us. My brother who lives with us has been unemployed now for 5 momths and was told his JSA runs our next month so there will be even less money coming in. I would like to think we can tighten our belts more but I really dont think we can. Luckily ive already brought DD school cardis and found the buttons I need to stitch on the one that has a missing pair. DS starts nursery but doesnt need anything for it except a packed lunch. While hes enjoying himself I shall be volunteering at DDs school to hopefully gain another qualification for when I myself look for more work this time next year.
Im still very young at not yet 30 but I see my friends struggling badly and those burying heads in the sand and still thinking they 'have to and the children need to' go abroad to have a good time. Its the occasional trip to the sea side for us and ice cream on the beach
Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!

One thing is clear, the people on here who have family losing jobs are all trying very hard to find new ones and we are all tightening our belts and doing our bit to keep our families going - you are all good people yet I only have to look out of my window to see many many bad examples.

if we are the minority Im pleased we all came together on here and can keep each other plowing on!:beer::beer:
