DH is in the garage playing - er -trying out the new garden shredder. he is like a big happy kid feeding it branches and watching them get shredded!!!!!!

Need to remind him to look at our bedroom radiator tonight and try to get it to heat up.

Window blinds are now nearly all fitted and make a real differance to the look of the house. Went to Tesco and left DH to deal with it and bought two doormats, slippers for DD(21) and had a look for some trousers for myself while the sale and 20% discount was on.

Ended up with two smartish/casual trousers - a pair of jog/leisure ones for just slobbing around and a really good quality pair of pj bottoms, four bottles of original source shower gel (on bogof) and a book. Think that will have to be it for spending till DH gets paid on Thursday as I feel a bit guilty now.

Congrats Mrs B. Well done you!:j:j:j

Well the bungee jump got cancelled because of the weather, typical grrr.
Know what you mean Sammy its a nightmare next week were paid child benefits and tax credits and guess what its going straight out:(.

    But ya gotta laugh.

So as soon as the money comes in i'm paying £100 straight off Argos, then that's one bill al gone and taken care of!:j.

Think we have about £7000 of debt to pay back to the banks, £1000 op, and £160 (DWP- op) i'm not counting student loan debt as thats beyond coprehension at the moment. I initally set out to pay £800 extra off debt by end of the year. But due to the car breaking down, other expenses it hasn't happened. But this month i'm determined to pay £250 off so i can get rid of Halifax and Argos. Then i can concentrate on the next one of £400 to pay. I'm determined not to get into this amount of debt again.

But so far so good, i've persuaded OH that its time to eat everything out of freezer before it goes off. He wanted to borrow money but i've suggested the above, so now he thinks its his idea ;). so got 5 more calzones ready for pack lunches for the week, lemon cake which is rapidly disappearing. Unfortunately we've ran out of cheese and milk so need to buy some, but going to see how we go.

Going to get the boys to make some snacks tonight, so should be fun.

Oh and the bathroom curtains are up ! yay, all for a the price of a whopping £1.60, just finishing the tie backs and were there!

I love feeding the garden shredder, it's very rewarding to see it go CHOMPA, CHOMPA, CHOMPA. We have buddleias which have self seeded on the wall which holds up the bank behind the house and they have to be cut right down every year. You can't kill them even though we've tried every weedkiller, stumpkiller etc. They chomp beautifully in the shredder. Small pleasures
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • Our CTC, WTC, CB and OH wages go in at different times of the month, so we pay debts in accourdance. Ours are mostly credit card debts around £10,000 then I have two from uni and my ex husband - I took loans in my name, he spent them, he left, I pay!

the credit cards debt will be gone in 3 and 5 years time so then that should finally be it. Im good at saving though, christmas is paid for and next years holiay will be paid for from November, also thinking of the boys doing a week each next summer holidays at tranmere rovers football school, 5 mornings where they do ball skills. Neither into football but its good exercise and a way to make friends, unfortunatly its £40 per child!

Did toast today and a couple of the kids came and said they didnt hace any money for toast as their parents hadnt given them any, felt awful as we ran out of toast today so couldnt give them any, the teacher on duty in the playground makes no effort to stop the children asking you and one 4 year old cried. i felt mean

Next year i'm hoping to pay an £100 a month onto the credit cards. So if that happens i will hopefully pay one more credit card off a year. I know this sounds bad but i want to pay the credit cards first before i do anything about the overdrafts. Most of my debts has occurred because of OH or just pure bad luck. But were paying them off slowly but surely.

Aw poor kids, don't feel guilty though, at the end of the day the kids will get fruit at snack time and play time.
  • My sister-in-law is a primary school teacher and she buys breakfast bars with her own money because some of the kids in her class don't get given any breakfast. One of them has an older brother who looks after him while his mum is at work and said his brother ate the last bowl of cereal so there was nothing for him to eat.

It makes me so sad and angry to hear of kids who aren't cared for. :(

Thats got me thinking....I tend to feel the cold as well and I have low-ish blood pressure. Is that one of the things that goes with that then - and I didnt know it?

Hope you don't mind me butting in but I just wanted to say I have low blood pressure and I never feel the cold unless it is REALLY freezing! I have arthritus too, but luckily it is not effected by temperature. Just the luck of the draw I guess.:)
