Gailey take it easy babe..your not wonder woman and need to be pampered...
Seasalt..we only give presents to children but cut this down to our children now...my brother and his soon to be wife actually gave me a list of presents that the children apparently want for christmas...think thats really cheeky..and not one thing was below £20..sorry they can fluff off..:D...so its my 2 little ones, teenage son,we have decided to do secret santa this yr..3grown up girls plus partners and me and hubby...much better i think and not so expensive either..just inlaws and outlaws then and they are easy..thats it..as for food..i'm doing lots of baking and cakes from now until begginning of december...we have turkey on christmas day and then all welcome for tea..then boxing day we go to one dd for lunch, another for tea, then another the next day..so not too bad at all...we have a massive fry up christmas eve..lovely..
Weather not too bad here..its been grey and misty rain,cold..could be worse though..
take care all...Be who you are, not what the world expects you to be..:smileyhea

Ceridwen - re the desk, it says farther down that it is supplied ready assembled. That suggests to me it's ready to use. At the price they charge it should be!!
Hope everyone is keeping warm! I've had one storage heater on in the living room now for a week. The difference is amazing and isn't costing too much. Even if the room is not too warm, there's a cosy heater to stand against. I've just ordered a dehumidifier as the house seems to keep damp - windows soaking in the morning, "tropical" feel in the bathroom hours after the shower's off, I can get wasing dry in a day, but then the house is more damp, so this year I have bitten the bullet and bought one. Here's hoping the atmosphere is more comfortable this winter.
Some good news, I've been on JSA since April and been applying for all sorts of jobs with no luck. But today I've just had a call from Primark saying they are offering me a job starting in October! It's only part time, which is a bit annoying@ 20hrs=5x 4 hours. Between parking and travel I'll be working for almost an hour a day for nothing, which is a quarter of my pay, but it's a real-live job, and I'm hoping I'll get more hours in the run up to Christmas.
It's only a game

Congrats Mrs B - I am sure you will get extra hours leading up to Xmas, and if they know you want more hours, I am sure you will get them0

Ceridwen, those bottom cross pieces should be pretty easy to knock off - I had a desk delivered with something similar and only very lightly tacked on. Is there someone in your local LETs scheme who would swop the handles round for you? Annoying though if you're expecting it ready-to-go. I once had this with toy shelves we bought for DS and DD's b'day, a triplane and a fairy castle - nothing in the catalogue to say they were flat pack - I did ring and did get an apology but nothing else - couldn't send them back as they were b'day presents and no time to get anything else.
If worst comes to worst maybe I might manage to get a LETS person to deal with it - but, like most LETS schemes, we are long on complementary therapists and short on handyman type skills - errr...and my balance is rather too much in debit at the moment for my liking...
At the moment - I am waiting a phonecall back from the firm tomorrow - a woman rang me tonight from them and I explained that I'm a single woman/useless at DIY and fed-up of having to beg favours on that front for myself and she did ask whether there might be a little handyman nearby that could be paid to do this - so I'm hoping that an offer is going to be forthcoming to cover the cost of a handyman bill for this (cant imagine it would cost much.....).0
