Ah I see - so I guess the positive take on that is that you'll be free of debt sooner than you otherwise would be...

lovelife - a belated welcome. I know it must feel dispirited that you're doing all the right things and sorting yourself out, and now your creditors may be coming back for more. I guess the only comforting thought is that if you do have to pay a little more, your debts will hopefully be cleared a little more quickly, although it's not an easy economic background against which to be doing it.
annie - sorry your evening out with your friend was disappointing, but perhaps it's better to have recognised what's happened. People change and friendships sometimes move on. You sound as if you're confident enough about your future now to make it without having to rely on her, so perhaps just best to acknowledge your diverging paths and be able to quietly let the friendship slip without animosity.
  • Good morning to all and a hug to those who need it
Its wet and gloomy here so the washing pile will have to wait. We have enough clean towels and clothes to keep us going.
Its DD school fete tommmorow so im hoping this weather stops. We cannot hold it inside so we will be stuck. DS has his little friend coming to play later. NOw im planning on being naughty and am wanting a lay in bed on Sunday wether I will get one is another story.
Ive some soup on the hob which smells divine. Soup always makes me think of winter and cold weather
DD has a new way of charming me which is to say, 'I love you Mummy'
Annie the very same has happened to me before with 2 ladies I thought were my best friends. It was upsetting at the time as we would see each other at least twice a week. The realtionship had moved on and so had we. I had had DD and she had met her partner

OMG Closing a hospital... That is bad news. Its bad enough here where our nearest one won't XRay children so we have to take them much further but a real emergency, I am sure they treat... I feel like I should check now :(

As for the quangos.. well I am no expert whatsoever in this field but can't help feeling that some of those groups shouldn't be government funded anyway. So if they can make savings there then good... But as I say, I am no expert and I suppose this could have a knock on effect...

    What do you think Ceridwen?

I've been quite chipper for a while and then when I was going home from work last night I heard on the radio that the cost of wheat will be increasing by 60%. That didn't seem so bad until they then went onto to give an abridged list of all the things that have wheat in them and that as animals are fed on wheat so meat and eggs will go up too. I know it may not go up by 60% but even 20% will make life much harder for lots of folk and I include myself in that! And before anyone tells me not to eat meat, I don't eat that much already (can't afford to as I buy the organic and humanely slaughtered stuff) but I like meat and don't want to give it up!

Ah well, more belt tightening I guess.:(

    Hi all

Just a quickie to tell you about my amazing new discovery!!! In the past (long distant past) I used to buy good night creams and serums for my face, more recently cheapy ones... However... I have now started using starflower capsules (the ones designed to swallow)... I bite one open, then use it on my face... Its better than any nightcream i ever bought, seems to get rid of fine lines AND its soooooooooo cheap... 60 capsules are under £3 in MrT so thats 60 nights worth which works out at 5p a day altho its so good I will prob only use it every other night making it 2.5p a day :D

Its natural, food grade, pure and brilliant!

I hope that helps someone to make a saving :)

(oh, and whats left on my hands, i rub in to my nails and cuticles so even better value - saves on cuticle and hand creams :D)

So clever! I just paid out for face serum, wish I had known before. Will be getting those this week and trying it out asap. :)

  • The postie has just brought a wedding invite to one of my friends weddings for us. I thought she was having a child free day which put us in a weird position as we have nobody to have our 2 children but they are named on the invite. The wedding and afterwards are at a posh local hotel and weve been asked to pay for all of our own food and drink. On top of this DS will need a new outfit as all he has is normal clothes for a 2 year old. I can borrow a dress for DD but myself and DH have lost a lot of weight so have nothing to wear either. When you add a gift to these costs were in trouble
She never mentioned the idea of everyone paying for themselves before. My 2 children will be the only 2 there so keeping them quiet is going to be hard.
These are 2 of my best mates as well getting wed.
Four meals in the day and then food at the night (I guess we could eat before we go) but again drinks at night in this posh hotel really is going to cost quite a bit
Ive already said we cannot go to the combined hen and stag do. Theyve hired caravans 350 miles away and want us to go for the week. Erm hello we have 2 children, she asked me to get a friend to look after them for a week (im not joking) I just know DD is going to be upset at not being asked to be bridesmaid as well. She was going to be a bridesmaid this year but the couple split up.
Oh dear OH will be cross
