Hello and welcome lovelife
And can I add that I had buckets of ripened tomatoes (mainly orange & yellow, cos that's what I planted!) I've souped them, pasta sauced them, pizza sauced them, eaten them as is, given them away, frozen them, ratatouilled them - and still pick them off daily (mind you, down to only about 6-8/ day now) The plants are looking horrible, but they're still going. I have about 4 courgettes growing still, too (maybe a couple more to come when I looked earlier) And I'm picking off a huge bundle of runner beans every 2-3 days (and I don't even like the bloomin' things!!) - they've taken over mine and my mother in law's freezer and I've chutnied them and given the guinea pigs masses of them to eat. Sadly, my aubergine plant finally came into bud - and promptly dropped the buds a few days later

I do believe it is warmth and not light that turns tomatoes red, however don't take that as gospel as I am the type of gardener that has huge crops of dry sticks.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Me too! Weeds grow pretty well too! :rotfl: :rotfl:
I read somewhere on MSE that if you cut the plant off at the base and hang it upside down somewhere cool and dry that the green 'uns will ripen naturally and stay suculent
Still no luck on the job huntingI'm not giving in - somewhere, someplace there is a job with my name on it!! Just got to keep goin' till I find it

Mr bb was saying that the motorway on the way home from work was wall to wall traffic because of the rain.
I went out in the sunshine to the supermarket, when I came out the sky was black, I mean really black, I got caught in the most amazing thunderstorm. The kind where the air smells of lightening.
Bit scary, had to shelter at one point because it was like the sky was one giant hosepipe on full blast.
