Nobody had red tomatoes this year pet, the weather saw to that !!
Errr...<cough> I beg to differ - I had loadsa red tomatoes:D. So - I've eaten loads, bottled some, dried some, frozen some, bartered some, given some away.....and I've figured out a plan to grow even more next year:D.
I think those plants have come to the end of their lives now - so all chopped down and stripped of the green tomatoes hanging on them (duly placed in a brown paper bag with an apple to ripen them up).0 -
Hi Lovelife, good to have you on here. You're doing well.
Katholicos and anyone else who is/has been put on - you can stand up for yourself and be firm whilst still being very polite and smiling. Don't let people put you down or dump their baggage on you. We can meet others needs where we can but we can't meet the whole worlds needs so don't feel bad about saying no at times and don't let others treat you with disrespect.Second purse £101/100

Ceridwen - an apple? I hadn't heard of that before. I know that bananas give off something that makes fruit go off quicker so maybe hurries up the ripening process. Got ours on window ledge atm in the hope that whats left of the sun will redden them. Might try the apple though.Second purse £101/100

Well Im back totally shattered but oh what a lovley day...best bit of frugality today, I was tutting at prices to myself outside a posh hairdressing shop(£45 FOR A CUT AND BLOW DRY:eek:)when a well coiffured model type put a notice in the window requesting models for there junior stylist and she beckoned me in and kind off kidnapped me and pushed me in a chair:D:D an hour and a half later I emerged with a short choppy style with a new colour and facial done and my face made up, had natural blonde shoulder length hair when I went in, must say it was just over 90minutes of pure pampering for a fiver yep £5 and if I say so myself I look a few years younger....wow was so relaxing and I now have honey highlights.
Had a lovley lunch in the Green Man pub on the Ashbourne High Street, got some frosty looks from the posh older couples dining there but hey it was my day out and ladies dont have to have a man attached at the hip to enter pubs:D:D.
Got a lovley suede jacket out a charity shop (posh types live round there)for £3 and a cream cashmere polo neck for £1.50 and some lovley old fashioned kilner jars and went to the Coop for a mooch and got some tinned chopped tomatoes for a £1 for 4 so bought the lot as the car park was just out theback and loaded my trolley and took it and slung the goodies in the boot of the car.
Popped into local surgery and asked about there midwifery services, no vacancies but they have some given me some numbers to contact re vacancies, every little helps in the job hunting market.
Found the shoe factory outlet, and they had lots of size 7`s in stock, so bought a pair of fleecy slipper boots in pink sparkley stuff and some wellie socks and totally fell in love with a pair of fleecy material lemon coloured pair of jim jams so bought 2 pairs and some new Brigit Jones nickers , practical ones that wash nicely I will have you know then as I was handing them over to be paid for there was a cough behind me so I looked, oh ladies a dream of a man with the most beautiful brown eyes was there ....my knees went weak and my pulses raced I said there for my mother he said I should hope so my lovley, I floated out of the shop oh yum if he had been a bar of choccie Id have eaten him and b u gg er the calories ... now after my flirt in ths shop I came down to earth and came home to reality.
So all in al a spendy day on practical things, jeez its pouring with rain here and its thundering and the lights flickering so am off to fill my flask with hot water and get my wind up torch out....might be able to do a practice run for winter
Hope youve all hada nice day, and all fine in your world, oops lights flickering so will post this message quickly, and my pal and I are going to for a 2 for 1 curry at the newbie place round the corner from me, I think Im getting the hang of this single lark at last....should sleep ok tonight..

No hurry to ripen tomatoes. Hung in a south facing window, they will keep ripening until December. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
