I was pausing for dramatic effect ! :rotfl:
I was hoovering in the big open space that had the leather settees/fancy coffee tables for meeting & greeting - when something made me stop. I looked down the length of this room to the foyer at the lifts, all the lights were on because I'd just hoovered that bit. There was a desk and a big potted plant opposite the door to the lifts.
I saw this "thing"...and I cant explain to you how evil it felt. I actually felt my scalp crawl, so now I know that is a true saying ! It was the size of a small thin human, it was deep dense black. Impossibly black, like a figure made from soot. It came out of the wall and my heart nearly stopped LOL and all I can mind thinking was ohmygod its between me and the only way out ...
It must have lasted just seconds that I watched it, then I heard the hum of the lift doors starting to open. And this thing moved SO FAST that you knew it wasnt human. It hid behind the pot plant. I swear to you all, this is true. It moved n such a horrible furtive way and felt so "wrong" that it made me feel very sick.
And then the lift doors opened and in walked the security guard doing his round. He was jet black and big and from Ghana. Nice man who never spoke but always smiled. He nodded & smiled and walked past me, and I moved fast out of the way because I knew that thing was behind him.
I legged it fast down to level 4 and other cleaners LOL... took me about an hour to work up the nerve to go back up there. But I was there maybe a year after that and never saw it again. thankyou god LOL!:rotfl: So now I think it was connected to the guard and I dont really want to know any more about it. But when you totally dont believe in evil/demons/witchcraft, etc.... it leaves you with some difficult thinking to do !0 -
Well written Mardatha, you actually made my skin crawl there, too! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

YIKES! Mardatha:eek:
You may be right - that it was connected to the guard in some way. Did you have the nerve to say to him "Excuse me - errr...I think you have a problem.....did you know about it?"
I'd have stood routed to the floor with shock myself - and mentally throwing up a "barrier of light" round myself and praying hard for help...
Uggghhh...crosses myself fast....0 -
I have to say I don't have any partiular interest in how other people view me any more, I did notice I lost a lot of 'friends' when I changed from running my own company & moved from a 6 bed detached in third of an acre, to being admin worker in a school with 3 bed ex local authority property. I decided that with friends like that I didn't need any enemies, lol.
I once lived in a house where the previous owner had died, the chair he died in was still in situ, there was always a cold spot where the chair had stood, but then is was in a direct line between the badly fitting back door & the door to the stairs, a few people commented on the cold, I just use to tell them it was 'George' the resident ghost.
I was told I had someone watching over me, she was described as an elderly lady wearing a green gaberdine mac & a yellow wool hat like a tea cosy. That would be my grandmother, she always used the same knitting pattern for her hats & her teacosies, only she left gaps for the spout & handle of the tea pot, not her head.

TooMuchDebt - so sorry to hear you've had MRSA, after I had DD I had an infection c-section wound that took forever to heal until I had a new nurse who used dressings with silver in rather than standard ones and that cleared it up really quickly.
If you're not already on the silver dressings, it might be worth asking your nurses?
Hope you feel better soon
Kittikins
They've been packing it with this special stuff with silver in cos it has to heal from the bottom up to let all the pus out(it was 4cm deep and is now 3.2cm deep).I just have a feeling it'll be a long hard slog to get rid of it.

Awh !! laughing at Hesters granny's teacosy hats LOL. We all have loved ones/family watching over us eh - but I dont want to go too far OT and spoil this thread though. No Ceridwen I did NOT run after him and say excuse me but did you know yuv got a wee imp following you around LOL! I carefully didnt think about it again at all when I was up there, just in case my interest brought it back. I stuffed the whole thing into a cupboard in the back of my head. Ghosts arent usually scarey at all once you sort of get your head round it.
Money and govt are VERY scarey though ! lol!0 -
Thanks for telling us that Mardatha.
My parents both came from such large families - most of them now "passed over" - that I think I must have a positive crowd of people watching over me :rotfl::D. I KNOW at least one person definitely is - as I've been "protected" from various things I would have otherwise "blundered into" - I just don't know who they are.
I can understand not telling people things one has realized - I don't notice a lot personally - but I can remember an occasion where I was sitting talking to an old man (widower) and was aware that "someone" else was there as well sitting in an armchair nearby (think it was probably his dead wife??) and didnt have the nerve to mention it (though I think the information would have probably been welcomed in fact). It just felt "wierd" - knowing that there was three of us in the room - but I could only spot myself and the person I was talking to....
I have a very low level of "awareness" of things like that - but that was "an experience" for me....
My father knows his beloved dog is still "around" - and I don't know how he reconciles that with being an atheist.....0 -
Having a day off today to catch up with gardening/ironing/washing etc...feeling tired as neighbours down the lane went out last night - leaving their 3 big dogs out in the run..the poor things yapped, barked and howled (singly & in chorus) from about 8pm until they arrived back home at 3.30am!
Fascinating ghost stories - they made the hair on the back of my neck stand up too!
I think we have a ghost of sorts, our cottage was built 1650/70-ish so must have seen some births and deaths since that time. Nothing really creepy happens except the back door and some of the internal doors open on their own - you can hear the latches lift and then the doors swing open. Its not a spooky place though - maybe someone more sensitive than me could pick up some vibes
Strangest thing about it is that when I researched my family tree - I was surprised to discover that my great, great, great grandfather lived, worked and brought up his family in our tiny village (approx 10 cottages) so its possible that we are living in the same cottage that my ancestors lived in the 1800's... so I wonder if its g-g-g=grandpa checking up that we're keeping his house tidy!:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
