When my eldest DD was around 13 she went through a very messy period in which she would dump everything on the floor and her room was a nightmare as she just wouldn't clear it up.I solved the problem by getting my neighbours son in to see what a scuzzy lass she was and it shamed her into tidying up a lot more ( she had a bit of a crush on him and he was a bit of a neat freak) amazingly she is now 43 alomost and extremely houseproud and constantly yelling at HER dd to tidy up.it's like de ja vue ,brilliant :) and she sounds as I did thirty years ago.revenge is a dish best served cold methinks :)

For dogs you can put the squirt the calpol into a rolo with a syringe.

I was always under the impression that chocolate should never be given to dogs as it is toxic.

Jackie, I used to always say to my daughter "Just wait till you have your kids "!....the other day I heard her yell at her eldest messy daughter "Just you wait till you have your own kids " ! I loved it :)

Oh does that mean that soon I will finally get revenge on my DD after all these years - that will be good!:rotfl:

As for human medicine for animals I have used golden eye ointment on my dog once, on the vets recommendation as it is so pure. And fairy liquid apparently can be used on everything from animals to antiques- I just wont waste money using it on the pots :) I think they mean sustained feeding of chocolate to dogs - like little old ladies who think its a treat everyday. If it means you can get them to take medicine without stress to all concerned its ok.

Gardeners world tonight said they have recipes on the web site for preserving veg. Some of them sound yummy.

Why waste chocolate on dogs anyway - I'm a little old lady and I think its a treat every day, but nobody gives me it :(

Oh thank god - someone else nows my pain.

I cant stand bloody spongebob on a daily basis let alone a whole week long marathon of the little yellow ******. and now just to add insult to injury - its bloody Ben 10 day on the TV.

In fairness some of his programmes I don't mind and I make them Bens mummy time and we watch them together - like his wrestling shows on a sunday (the topless John Cena who usually graces the screen helps though! :D ) and the avatar cartoon that's on at 7pm most nights. Thats our cuddle time before bed. I was getting too 'one track minded' with babe that I wasn't really spending much time with Ben but hoping now its back to school I'll learn how to juggle the two better and if she naps in the afternoon I'll be able to sit down with him to help with homework and reading.

Am going to go through my kitchen today and make a list of what's in the cupboard.

Having a bit of a dilema at the minute so would like opinions too.

I have an overdraft of £230 on a nationwide account, I set up an arrangement to pay back £20 a month and this would reduce the overdraft and meant I could still get to my maternity allowance (£180 every two weeks). This is not the first time I've accidentally exceeded the account limit though and had to remake the agreement.
Well we are in that horrible last week where there is no money coming in the house and I was £221 overdrawn already but we needed milk, bread etc and I only have a cash machine card so I took out £10 so now I'm over my overdraft limit (which automatically cancels the agreement) and am not sure if they can reinstate it.

Now Im paid £180 on Thursday and Im wondering whether to
    a) ring monday morning - line isnt open today - and try and reinstate repayments for £260 to cover charge I will get which will be finished repaying in October 2011!

    OR do I

    b) rearrange bills, be smart with shopping etc and not taking into account this £180 on Thursday (im paid benefits on Tuesday + Wednesday too) and let it pay off a sizeable chunk of my debt then I'll only have £70 to pay with charge and then phone maternity allowance people to change bank details to go into another savings account for the payment I'll get on 16th september.

What would you do?? If Im careful with shopping, strictly pay bills only, home bake and no spend days etc I can manage this.
    Time to find me again

I would go for choice b Sammy kaye, if you are able to manage it. I say that because if you were in a similar situation on another month, you would be temepted to do the same as you are doing this time. It's just human nature and if you are in dire straights, you will do it, so best to bite the bullet and get rid of the debt if you can. :)

I think I would try do the second option & make sure that I changed the account that any future maternity payments are paid into but only you know which option will cause you the least stress as I think that the stress anything will cause should be considered.

However have you realised that the bank phoneline will probably not be open on Monday either as it is a Bank Holiday?

Good Luck with what you decide.
