  • I used to work in a vets and choc for dogs is only toxic in 'amounts' a poodle for explae would need less to cause harm than a larger dog
Talking of dogs mines still at the vets. My other 'little lady' wouldnt settle last night and ive 2 upset children. I made the mistake of taking DD with me to the surgery as I honestly thought she had a cold and may have needed antibiotics. So I ended up leaving the dog with the vet and walking out with my daughter in tears. Heres me thinking it would have been a good oppurtunity of showing DD how vets make animals better.
Well it seams a lovely day weather wise. The washers on and I may go inot town to get the last of DD school bits. Ds (2.5) starts nursery next week so ive got 2 weeks to settle him in before uni starts for me and a very busy year. One of the courses is just 10 weeks but I need to go it before I can carry on the next level up.
Ive booked Asda to bring the shopping for tommorow morning which is lazy for me but I really want to be able to hop in the cra to collect the dog as soon as I can not be stuck in Asda.
Sammy its always 'Thomas' on in my house od DDs dance videos. I swear I know every word lol. It steams back to having to tube feed DS when he was younger. If I put 'choo choo' on or have him a 'choo choo' toy to hold he didnt try to oull the tube out and was generally much happier
Wishing you all a wonderful Saturday

Sammy, what about corned beef hash, or a pie with whatever you have in? There was a thread on here last night that I was reading about plate pies, loads of ideas on that.

Rice, stir fry veg and a bit of bacon cut up small should go down well if your son will eat rice? You can add whatever you have. I usually add a bit of cubed potato too as it tastes nice, even though you don't normally have potato and rice together. You can get away with very little meat in it.

  • Hi everyone, sending (hugs) to everyone who needs them.

Sunshine here today which makes a nice change. Need to do some baking today - family barbecue/party tomorrow and I am taking potato salad, (allotment) green bean salad (allotment again!), and baking some muffins and twinks hobnobs. Hopefully this is a good contribution to the party but won't cost me a fortune....

Feeling very low though, I don't know why really. I am quite drained from looking after the kids through the holidays - my eldest has been hard work and she is always crying/throwing tantrums at the moment. It is rubbing off on my younger daughter too. I hope it will be better when they go back to school/nursery but then I have to go back to work and I'm not looking forward to that...
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D

  • Sammy - thankfully I'm not the only one suffering Ben 10 day, which I think continues over the weekend!!
TJ's had some good school coats in if you are close by and they were reasonably priced, as were tK Maxx

DS2 looks like hes getting a clod, hes emotional and naughty, but he refuses to nap until weve watched 'Ben 10 The secret of the omnitrix' which we have on DVd.

Weather is bit of sun, bit of rain and wind. Only been to local butchers this morning and i have serious cabin fever!

Ooh I'm so excited, we had a potato plant spring up in the middle of our raised bed, it must have grown from a bit of left over peel in the compost, today hubby dug it up & harvested 4lbs of potatoes, they are huge red skinned ones & will be lovely roasted with tomorrows dinner, which is boned rolled stuffed breast of lamb with beans from the garden as we picked another 2lbs of them today.

  • Well, it was gorgeous when I went out to the gym this morning. No, I wasn't being all good and virtuous...I needed a shower! Hubby has done an AMAZING job at fixing ours...although I don't think the man at B&Q wants to see us again in a hurry. "I want to look at this unit. And I need to unpack it to see where the water intake is. Hmmm... no, not quite right. Lets try this one. Oh no, this one. Oh, lets go back to the first one. Yes, the one you just packed up again. Yes, I'll take this one!" LOL! :D I said profuse thank you's to the B&Q man who was politeness personified! :D

Now it has clouded over and it is looking threatening a bit icky. I think my ideas of gardening a little will have to wait until tomorrow now. I shall instead clean the bathroom when hubby has finished fixing the shower, and then perhaps tidy away the dry washing. And do the pots after lunch. Wow. What a Saturday. *rolls eyes*

I got some of those big Daz boxes from Morrisons yesterday, but how much soap powder does everyone put in. I try not to put in the amount that they say but get the impression that a lot of you put in far less.

It says for soft water 95mls - though not had time yet to work out exactly how much that is, but I'm sure I remember reading on here somewhere about a tblespoo was all that someone put in. I was using a big tub of Costcos own brand stuff the last time I had powder and that was more concentrated and used less powder and since then I've used liquids and gel tabs, of which I only use one instead of two.

Thing is, I need to find a container that is the right size for the amount that I decide (having consulted with all of you) is the right amount because hubby and son will put loads in if there is a bigger scoop there. So will be very grateful for your help on this one.

  • the only good thing to come out of today was the fact that my high street gift vouchers have arrived.

The rest involves a plumber, who fixes the system, then put on a new valve, leaves for a christening hes late for and leaves with a leak in the bathroom. Fast forward to 'I dont have another valve that size, be back tomorrow morning or shall I call a collegue as its an emergency'. OH says no tomorrow ok!!!

Im here empting water, opening a valve when you want to flush the toilet, 2 cabin fever hyper overtired boys and a very stresses me.

    Roll on 7pm bedtime....
