You mean before she hits him over the head with a frying pan??? - We now have an O.S. precedent for such action - and a vicars wife of our acquaintance endorsing such action:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Note to self...carry a handy frying pan when out driving, in case some little old man drives into the back of my car.:D

Administer punishment to said little old man, accordingly.

katholicos - I suppose the only thing you can say to shame your daughter is that 18 & 19 year olds are fighting for their lives and their country in Afghaistan and some of them are coming home in coffins. Doing a few household chores by comparison seems to be a pretty easy option to me.

Well - what remark to make would need to be geared to what sort of person Katholicos has as a daughter/how she thinks/etc....If my mother had come out with a comment like that - there would have been/would still be a very short sharp retort back. She wouldnt have made one like that again in a hurry......it would have backfired bigtime...and left me sitting there too depressed/de-energised about having someone so different to myself as a mother to feel able to do anything at all for a while..

I think maybe a more practical approach might be to make up a list of household chores and relative time/energy/etc available from both of you to get them done and sit down and discuss them adult to adult.

Never thought about calpol for dogs and cats. If it's safe it's a lot cheaper than medicine from the vets. Perhaps you should post on the pets forum and save some people money.

For dogs you can put the squirt the calpol into a rolo with a syringe and for cats you put some onto the tops of the front paws (not the pads but tops) and they will lick them clean.

Well there's some OS entertainment going on here - dh is examining ds1 in cricket positions - ds1 has to point out where they are in the sitting room - "deep extra cover" or "silly mid off" anyone? This is following on from the exam in bowling averages!!!! No wonder I spend time on the internet! (I like watching cricket - but the finer points............)

Oh my......the evening must be flying by ;)

Where is "down here" D&DD? I'm down here in Dorset, and we've had sun today for the 1st time in over a week. Actually managed to get a line of washing dry.

Didn't rain down here on Tuesday (no sun though) by my goodness we've had some rain. I've only managed 2 days washing since Thursday last week - I've got a tumble dryer, but I daren't use it with money being so tight. Think I've used it twice in the last 18 months, they just have such a reputation for running away with the electricity.

We've got sun forecast for Sat & Mon - not that that's anything to go by - but it really has been one of the most miserable wet weeks that I can ever remember.

Edited to add In case cricket is reading, I've just had my most exciting "moment of the week so far"..........
Just seen on My$upermarket that Te$cos have got 200g Corned Beef on offer for £1.25, down from £1.58 until the 12th September..........who said Friday nights aren't fun anymore :rotfl:

It was quite sunny today (in West Yorkshire) but now I'm freezing, I'm on the sofa in PJs and a long cotton dressing gown and a fleece blanket over me!
