Where do I start – I will try to be brief!
In January we booked Manchester-Beijing via Doha with9flights using Qatar Airways. The booking went fine and our flights wereconfirmed.
Since then our daughter emigrated to Dubai. This week wedecided to see if we could re-arrange our return flight on the 18thOctober so that we could get a 2 or 3 day stopover in Doha. On Wednesday at 5pm“Daniel” confirmed he could do this for £200 and he had a reservation he couldhold for 24 hours. I told him I would confirm the next morning to give mechance to ensure that I could get flights to Dubai from Doha and that ourdaughter would be around that weekend.
I called him back at 10am Thursday and suddenly the change wouldcost £300. I wasn’t happy, but I accepted it. We paid the money andconfirmation appeared on their website and on Qatar Airways website. I thenwent ahead and booked our return flights from Doha to Dubai direct with Qatar.
As an aside to this “Daniel” told me the Doha-Dubai flightsI wanted were full and that he could get flights for me for £100 more than Icould book them for myself. Definitely a lie as I just booked them myself.
By 4.30 on Thursday my new flights had disappeared from9flights website and Qatar’s website. I spoke to Daniel this morning and hetold me that the price had gone up again (to £640) and he had cancelled the newarrangement and that he was going to keep my existing flights and he could changemy flight after we left the UK on October 4th. He guaranteed to methat he would get our flight re-arranged whist we were in China.
He was expecting us to leave for Beijing withoutconfirmation that we would have our re-arranged flights that would allow us thestopover and the flights to Dubai. And no indication of how much this would costus other than “I promise it will be cheaper for you”.
I spoke to Qatar Airways and they told me that 9flightscould never guarantee me seats on that flight without a confirmation and thatthis is a very busy time and it is highly possible that that flight will befull.
I spoke to the supervisor at 9flights “Yasmin” and despiteme asking her how they would get me on a full flight she just kept saying “wewill get you on that flight”.
I have also discovered from Qatar that once I have set offon my journey my ticket allows my one change of flight at no additional costand that I can do this directly with them so I am guessing that 9flightsplanned to use this trick to get me a free transfer and charge me hundreds ofpounds for it.
I have now decided to try to do it myself after the firstleg of my journey when I arrive in Doha, but if the flight is full I will losethe Doha-Dubai flights, but worst of all we will miss the opportunity to seeour daughter for those few days.
So to 9flights – thanks! Thank for potentially losing mehundreds of pounds for nothing, thanks for all this week’s hassle, thanks forbuilding up our hopes that we would see our daughter then dashing those hopesand thanks for even managing to take the edge of our trio of a lifetime toChina.0 -
Very rarely can I ever be bothered to sign up to a website and share my experience about a company. In this particular case my experience was bad enough that I felt compelled to do so... partly because I want to put a dent in 9flights well-being, but also to warn others.
Today I tried booking flights for two people. When I received confirmation of my payment via e-mail I noticed that both our middle name and last name were joined together, despite clearly putting a space between them. In retrospect I should have just put our first and last names only, but I've never made a booking that didn't want my middle name as well (because it is down on my passport after all). What the heck would you do if you have a double barreled non-hyphenated surname... have it automatically joined together by their inept computer system? Well... guess what... I rang up just to make sure it would be OK and if we could put a space between the middle and last name. The answer?
9flights: 'No. You will need to make a separate (new) booking.'
Me: 'Do I need to pay more?'
9flights: 'Yes, you will need to pay the difference for the new seat.' (which cost 80GBP+).
After some stern talk they said in the end 'O.K. it won't be a problem, we can change it'.
Then a half hour later I get a call from another staff member saying that 'it's not possible to change. Your seats are no longer available. There is however one seat still available on this flight, but the other one costs more' (around 80+).
Then I get another call from someone else saying something different. He then states I can cancel my booking and my card will not be charged. I found out 10 minutes later whilst talking to my bank to confirm the charge authorisation will be voided that as I was on the phone to them saying they will cancel it 9flights had already authorised the payment. Coincidental? Probably, but I couldn't care less. You suck. Big time.
It all (so far) seems okay now. I managed to get (in writing) confirmation that the card authorisation has been cancelled and is currently being reversed. I made sure he wrote the e-mail whilst I was on the phone because they will NOT do it otherwise, I'm sure of that.
What a bloody dreadful experience. They are truly a bunch of sheisters. Please please PLEASE do NOT book anything with them. Who cares if a few people on here have had a good experience... the bad ones far outweigh the good ones. It just is NOT worth it. It's a shocking level of service.
So what was the overall impact of this on me?
Now I am unable to book the flight for the day we needed. We're pretty sure we're going to miss an important event. All our hard earned money is currently locked up whilst the card authorisation is cancelled/reversed (24 hours) and I've got to juggle find alternative ways to pay. All because of two stupid conjoined middle and surnames on their confirmation system.
To hell with 9flights. I sincerely hope your company fails ASAP.0 -
Kayak are the ones for me. Very reliable and you purchase on their site rather than leaving the search engine to go to the sellers site.0

I went to book a flight to Thailand and went through Skyscanner to book and it took me through to 9Flights. We thought we had an amazing deal and it was 'live' but when it went to the booking it almost doubled in price. By this stage I had put in my home number and mobile number. 2 mins later the mobile phone went and it was 9Flights. This sent alarm bells ringing. They offered a flight for £100 more saying they could see I had just tried to book. So suddenly they could offer a ticket for a great reduced price. We said to call us back and quickly went on MSE.com and found so many bad reviews that the gut feel was starting to feel right.
9Flights called back with a better offer but we said we had seen the bad reviews and were wary to go with them because of bad reviews etc (you can read them all). The man had just the right thing to say and obviously had heard all the bad reviews. We said no again and asked how he could guarantee what he offered which was money back guarantee and a refund if tickets didn't come through, but that they would. We said we have no contract and how could we take his word. A lot of sales speak. We have gone with our gut feel and will not be booking through 9flights. It's up to you what you do.0 -
We went to book a flight to Bangkok and went through Skyscanner to book and it took us through to 9Flights. We thought we had an best deal and its showing book now when we click for booking its almost showing doubled in price.then again we refresh the page and type the flight departure and return date now again its showing us the lowest deal and when i am clicking for booking its going double i cant understand whats going on we just had put our mobile numbers over they and email to 9Flights about this but no single person came back to us and after that we just went on MSE.com to find information of 9flights and they we found so many bad reviews about this agency and now i am sure may be this is not good one for me .0

In short:
if you have patience, take advantage of the low prices. If you get nervous easily or are flying within a week or 2, go somewhere else. Thats my opinion
What I'm going through:
went through skyscanner. After filling in all my details, 9flights website said it couldn't make the booking. Phoned them up and they seemed very helpful. Agree their English is not best, but enough to get what I wanted. Made 4-figure credit card payment over phone after they emailed me an itinerary and price. They said I'd get another email confirming payment and eticket emailed the next day (saturday) after that. Received email to say eticket to be issued within 24hrs. Not so. Gave them the weekend and called the following Monday. They said that I'd get it by end of day. Not so.
Called them again on Wednesday (today) and was told the man that deals with etickets for this service was away but is now back so I shall have eticket soon. They said they'd call me back by 17:00 to confirm when I'd receive my eticket (we'll see....). I asked if they'd made the booking with the airline (because frankly that is the most important thing) and they said "of course". So I phoned the airline and they reassured me that the booking HAD been made and emailed me confirmation with the correct passenger names, flights, times etc. Job done! (sort of).
Depending on how this saga ends (I will update), I might only use them again if they are the cheapest by a distance and I have plenty time before departure to chase them up when they inevitably delay. Good offers, terrible execution.0 -
I'm here because on two occasions I gave my details to 9flights for booking tickets only to be told the flights I requested were no longer available and was then presented with prices that had near enough doubled. I got suspicious...
I used SKYSCANNER like a lot of people here, they are referring 9flights on a lot of low prices that come up in their search results - thing is - they're search engine is good, brilliant in fact and the company is legit.
I asked them to investigate 9flights with the possibility of removing them but have heard nothing, if skyscanner want to make a name for themselves they should stop linking to crap like this.0 -
I signed up just for this thread - I've just bought return tickets from Heathrow to Bangkok (via India) through 9flights. Should have checked here first.
I've received a first few emails saying that it's all ok, and I can put my booking ref into the AirIndia website and see my flights, select my seats etc.
However, I can't print my e-ticket due to not having permission or something. I phoned up AI to check that I'm in their system (and 9flights can't cancel it), but was told that I don't exist.
I'm hoping it's just because it takes a while to process - they do say to wait 24 hours for a second email. Maybe I've jumped the gun in getting worried, but I'll update when I find out what's going on.0 -
I am looking to buy two tickets to BRAZIL flying in December.
The best price i could find is from this company
I have been unable to find any online reviews which worries me a little.
Has anyone got any experience of this company?0 -
