Thanks for the cauli tips Donny. I already do this for her, after a fasion, I mix it with cream cheese and serve as a mashed potato substitute, but the grated cheese and grilling is a new one on me, I suppose its a bit like cheese and potato pie? Thanks very much, I will give it a whizz, I'm sure she'll be delighted:D

What are the basic things you can eat on the Harcombe diet?

    Thanks

    Lisa

there are 3 phases to the harcombe diet
phase 1 lasts for 5 days , she says this is where you get rid of your cravings, and kill any candida in your gut - so its pretty strict you can have meat fish eggs natural low fat live yoghurt, vegetables and salad ( except potatoes and mushrooms) brown rice you can drink decaf tea , coffee, water no squashes or fizzy drinks
you can also lose a fair amount of weight

    phase 2
is until you have lost all the weight you need to
you can eat meat fish eggs tofu cheese milk nat yog
any fruits any salad / vegetables baked potatoes wholemeal grains /pasta beans and pulses
    olive oil veg oil butter
same as phase 1 for drinks except you can have some wine

    phase 3
is maintenence - i havent read that yet but she says you can eat almost anything

her main rule is not to eat carbs and fat ( and she includes meat fish etc in the fat group) together except in phase 1

    Afternoon all

I've had a great day at work. It started off a bit shakey cos my colleague who is ill was in and we had a chat about me taking over his team cos he doesn't think he will be able to see it through to the end cos his op will need time to recover. He is in good spirits though and seems to be coping well. He did say I have to start being nice to him now though! :rotfl:

After that I joined the other team of kids on their community project which is in a school. They are building raised beds and a sensory garden. They all worked their socks off today. I spent the day with the group doing the raised beds so I have been laying bricks, mixing cement by hand, pointing the bricks and painting them! :rotfl: I'm exhausted, and I was filthy! Luckily the weather held off today, just the odd short sprinkle of rain. Last day there tomorrow so big push to get it all finished.

The weather last night was unbelieveable! I went for a walk about 9.30pm along the coastal path because it was high tide. The wind was up so the waves were crashing up and over the wall :D I found it very soothing to watch them. I'd just got in when the heavens opened! Then we had wind and rain all night. I am top floor flat (4th floor) and we are right by the sea so it sometimes sounds like the world is ending outside

I'm off out for dinner with the girls now, had to come home and shower first. Then I'm going to curl up with a magazine later (mrsmortenharket - I share your addiction!!)

    Have a good evening all

Hi all, finished work a bit early today and off tomorrow. Was at a meeting yesterday with colleagues and went for a few drinks after it which turned into a rather long and messy evening! In at 7am so nearly on my knees by lunchtime. In jammies now and had my HM pasta sauce for dinner. Got lots to do tomorrow and need to do a bit of cleaning too. off to a BBQ at my mates on Sat and staying over so also need to buy wine/burgers etc for that.

Low carbers, when I need to lose weight I do South Beach. It's tough and has phases like Harcombe but one time I lost half a stone in 2 weeks, and I only had a stone to lose to start with. I had just come back from working on the ship and I looked like a weeble so off it had to come!

Hugs to all you lovley ladies. Candygirl are you back with Meerkat?!

    Evening
The wind has howled all day and I feel really sorry for DD1 cos it has blown over some of her veg! The courgette plane has split it was enormoous and some of the corn has snapped and blown over. We will have to wait for the wind to settle and then assess the damage. shame eh!

The key board dried out but it is well and truly broken. aaaargh. It was a really nice one with all function keys, wireless.
DD2 knows how upset I am and keeps trying to do jobs etc, mabey she needs to break something every week. I have decided not to replace the key board for a while so there is no internet access for her, DD2 &3 can use my slow lap top and then all will get the message if on the computer NO drinks, food or nail varnish remover!!!!!

I had a super day today I did nothing, well I had HM ploughmans with a friend whilst watching a dvd, I did make soup Too much coli so I put (waht I thought was a little curry powder in) then too spicy so I put in milk got it right eventually. HM bread and a loaf for the freezer:T Oh and I did go to T'S this eve whilst DD1 did her fencing at Chi college

Redruby That was clue number three. heehee

Clue four tall with long hair

Must go and post my GC info I did well tonight, the trick is do not take any girls over 10 (that excludes all of mine) and the respite is lovely, The till lady appologised for the wait but I was happy to stand in silence and do nothing:T
    night night
