Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Thursday 15th July. 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier![*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.
Morning.

Pretty gloomy again down this way, high winds and showers, dark and just nasty. Typical summer I suppose. Gazebo blew away, so that will have to be dismantled. Ugh

Work this morning and then :beer: Payday wetherspoons curry and beer after work all being well. First it's get the bins out, feed the hens, etc ......
Funeral went OK, bit of miserable affair, but a good turn out and friendly catch up in the pub after. Seems like I have inherited all my Uncles wine making gear. Once my cousins found out there was someone in the family that made wine, that made it easy to dispose of that part of the property. I believe there is wine too..... He had good ethics and worked every day from 14 -70 yrs. Not bad

Well folks have a good day. hope the sun is shining where you are...

Morning N9eav & everyone to follow.

glad the funeral was "ok". You'll make good use of the wine making stuff eh!

It's pouring down here. My local weather thing for this hour says chance of rain 0%. Hmmmm!!!

    Olly awake at 5am.

I've got a few things done already though, might as well make the most of the time.

Need milk today at the shop. Not sure what else. Must resist the magazines. They are my downfall & are so expensive. I subscribe to a few (all offers!) & they are enough. I guess I am quite addicted. Bizarre addiction, but got to be better than some other addictions!

DS2 out for dinner tonight so just DD to cater for. Olly eats whatever I make as hes babyled weaned. It's DD's School Play tonight do my friend is coming over to look after the boys as DH is away again.

Right, I shall go & clean out the medicine cupboard in the bathroom. Today is bathroom day on Flylady!

    (((hugs))) for those in need.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,

Wet and very windy here, it was gale force in the night, had to get up and shut the window.

The Pigeon (George :D) has survived the night in the box :T he has eaten a bit, and poohed in his water, hopefully they will ring today, and arrange to collect him.

Floss, sorry in all the excitement, I forgot to say Congratulations to your DS fantastic result :T

Jayward hope the graduation goes well, and that you are well enough to attend xx

Csarina, when I want something sweet on the low carb, I tend to have a sugar free jelly, yogurt has quite a lot of carbs in.

Dinner tonight for the others is chips, fish fingers for OH, quorn nuggets for dd, not sure what I will have, sausages maybe.

Sainsbugs delivering tomight, and I need to do a wash.

Ralloctiger, my dd played tennis too :D

I have lost 11lb in total, it has slowed down a lot, but I will keep going, seems to be about a 1lb every 2 or 3 days at the moment.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

    Mornig everyone

N9eav glad your day went ok , well as ok as funerals go . I am sure your damily are relieved it is now over as you have all had a time of it lateley.

mrsmortenharket Poring down here as well, looks like tumble dryer today :-(

redruby I had fish fingers and chips a few nights ago, plain adn simple and lovely

HoneyBee83 I need to do some finance sorting too, hate it but has to be done. Maybe tonight

Well another wet and miserible day here. Need to do some tidying but grandson staying tonight so seems a waste of time as will all have to be done again tomorrow when he goes lol You forget how much disruption a 2 year old causes .

I am going to the place called my " sons bedroom " He has not stayed at home for 3 nights, although he says he has but a mother knows, must have some girl on the go. I asked him yesterday for washing, he has none. Now last time I washed clothes for him was monday so I know he has dirty clothes in his room so I need to go investigate, wish me luck lol

Chicken Fajita for tea tonight, better lift chicken from freezer, and going to make lasange for tomorrow night. I find it always tastes better after it has been cookled and in fridge for a while so second day. Unfortunely this means a trip to shop to get mince so will have to try and go between showers.

Think I need some new fresh fruit salad as well. Made last lot on Sunday and was fine yesterday so will go look and have a sniff and see if ok lol I do not usually keep it this long but my mate told me it will keep for a week in fridge so will check it before buying new stuff.

I really could do with giving my bathroom a good clean but not sure if I feel up to it , I HATE cleaning the bathroom tiles and bath. Sink and loo every day no problem but hate tiles and bath lol

I am also going to do list of jobs that need done weekly, fortnightly and monthly and deligate some to hubby. I am sick asking him to help and getting " but it does not need done " so if we agree on some jobs and how often he has said he will do them regulary :rotfl: Yeah right !!!!!

Off to get breakfast, have a good day everyone

    Morning all

Dull, very windy and overcast here this morning, but no rain as yet. Although we had a couple of heavy downpours yesterday afternoon/evening and a bit of thunder.

Had a postcard from DS2 to say he was having a good time, been mountain biking and he "hadn't fallen off" and was missing us, ahh! Brought a lump to the throat as we're very close, but know this trip will be so good for his confidence.

Had fish for dinner last night and will be making a quiche for tonight, we'll have it with salad, new pots pasta salad etc. Have the normal round of jobs to do today, ironing, housework etc - so will be cracking on shortly, going on hols end of next week so need to keep on top of everything. Ordered some clubcard deals vouchers to use on holiday last night, they'll save us some money on meals out whilst we're away.

Will be doing a big baking session before we go so we can take lots of HM goodies, new caravan has lots more storage so makes this much easier.

Must crack on otherwise I'll get nothing done!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning folks! Hope everyone's well!!

Thought I'd put in an appearance after drifting into lurkdom for a while.

Managing to keep up on the OS front - meals are from scratch & we're eating goodies from the garden. Not doing too well on the Stardrops & white vinegar routine but hey ho, can't do everything! :o

Loving life as a Granny - can't believe Anna is 2 already!

Hugs to those in need. Congratulations on recent achievments & new babies in the family.

Special hugs to PP & Diva.

N9eav I know how you feel re funerals, I have another to attend today (second one within a week!) my BF Mother sadly died last friday whilst I was at my aunts funeral, think I must be reaching that age now where most of the events you attend are funerals sadly!

Redruby I have lost 12lbs low carbing:j:j:j but think it will slow down now as I have just completed my second week. I have such a long way to go though that I hope it stays a reasonable loss. I too am a huge fan of sugarfree jellies (and cream)

Posting on daughters mini laptop as mine is very unwell, it is really difficult to use, she says I can borrow it until I can afford to get mine fixed, but as things are so tight that may be a while (Hubby still on desperately short time but hey at least he is still working)

Hugs to all who need them. Hope Diva is recovering I sure miss the purple prose!

    Have a good day all

    Morning All

The weather is a bit better here but there are a few dark clouds so I expect we are going to get some more rain. We had a short Thunderstorm here yesterday afternoon - I love Thunderstorms :D

Fellow low carbers my weight loss has dropped to 2lb a week and I am on week 5 total weight loss is 1st 6lbs :) but the inches are still shifting well - so far 5 inches off boobs, 6 inches from waist and 4 inches off hips - it may seem that you are not losing weight but if you check your measurements every week you actually are losing inches which is what we want isn't it

DH has just got back from his shift and we are going to get the shopping today ( I hate shopping on Friday or Saturday)

Well must fly TTFN will try to pop back back laters x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Morning all

Hope George makes a speedy recovery - my XH was a pigeon fancier....(turned out he was quite partial to barmaids too :D)

Have my Super Shopper training to do this morning and if all goes well I have 5 stores to do this weekend - 3 are food ones and 2 are the larger stores...have to spend £10 in each on food :D Also have two stores to do tomorrow that want to check their underage policy on knives is being adhered to so DS2 has been roped in for those...he looks a bit of a thug so hopefully will get stopped :rotfl: and it will make him a few pound as he's off college for a few weeks at the minute.

So todays agenda includes...some washing needs done, and I need to meal plan from today but I have loads of food in so I'll plan around that. Also need to sort out the kitchen food cupboard as things look a but haphazard! and check the fridge to see if anything needs to go in the freezer.

    Have a good day x
