  • doelani, I did my oven the other night. Vile job. It's still not clean either.

I had it cleaned a few years ago, it cost about £55.

    Now if you'll pay me £55 I'll come & do yours ;)

That's what's so wonderful about having a new kitchen - my oven is sparkly clean! We have used it - just need to quickly wipe it over as soon as it's cool enough! Result!!!! I truly think oven cleaning is the worst job out - and very guilt inducing, as I so rarely did it on the old cooker! Am determined not to let this one get into that state again, ever!

had friend round for coffee this morning, plus the tiler, so don't feel I've got a handle on the day yet. No washing needed, but I did iron at silly o'clock (was out walking dog at 5.40am today!). I really ought to ring the tax office and try to get my money sorted out, plus the pension people, but not sure I feel sufficiently strong and patient for such a marathon as that's likely to be...maybe I'll just gather all the paperwork together and then see how I feel! On the other hand I'm sure they owe me money, so maybe that's my incentive!
Have a good day, everyone - and take care!

    ¡Hola! :hello:

Won't mention the weather here, but parts of Spain have a health warning out due to the temperatures:eek:

Glad the funeral went OK N9eav and you sorry to hear you have carp weather.

Sorry to hear most of you are having a wet St Swithens.

Hope the new kitchen is in soon Cranky

    Congrats to your DS Floss

    - enjoyed your tale of dressing up, glad George seems OK this morning and hope he gets picked up soon

doelani - if clothes not in clothes basket, they don't get washed, when they want something to go out they get the message!

Now I have wi-fi I can sit outside and post, so maybe here more often.:D Our friend has gone home now, so we are chilling, need to hang a load of washing out.

I am rather interested in the Harcombe Diet too, tried their web site, but not much details apart from buying the book, which I would look at in the library if I were home, so any details greatly appreciated.;) Found a rather delic dessert on their forums. :oDoing the Atkins atm, want at least 5.9kg off before I go back, 2.5kg to go, not too bad in just under 3 weeks. Staying on Induction, but very boring. No alcohol at all:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Have load of food in the fridge, so will be using that. BH here tomorrow a local Saints Day, Diana I think - something to do with the sea and the fishermen. Moors & Christians parades start in a nearby town next week.

I have some Gambas for lunch:D:D with a little salad. HM burgers with the Just like Jacket Spud Cauli for me and possibly Oven Chips for DH.

Will try to get up early tomorrow to do some HW as it is certainly too warm after 10.30am

((hugs)) to absent friends - hope you are all OK.

    Take care - DG

Hola Donny. What is the just like jacket spud cauliflower? My MIL can't do potatoes at all, and I'm always looking for things to make her. :D

    Afternoon everyone.
Feeling ropey with DD's cold - how delightful of her to share <rollseyes> so if I'd lost motivation already you can imagine how I REALLY can't be bothered to do anything :o
It was gloriously sunny with a good breeze, perfect drying weather. Hang it out and then whilst walking to school it chucks it down. Just got soaked getting it in and guess what.......it's gone sunny again

Enough of my whinging. Fancy making a chocolate orange cake - going to adapt my lemon drizzle cake recipe but that does depend on me feeling up to it :o The mind is eager but the body is not :rotfl:

Not much else to report. Going to finish the rest of the cooked ham for tea - I have about a thousand courgettes to use will do a ham and courgette hotpot type thing with diced new potatoes and loads of garlic :D I shall stink but it will help my cold ;)

N9eav - hope you will do your uncle proud and put his wine making stuff to good use ;)

Cranky - look forward to seeing pics of the finished kitchen - it will be worth it in the end.

I am curious about the Harcombe diet too - I am not good at Low carbing but from what I glean from the thread you can eat spuds with it??? Hmmmm might be worth a look-see possibly.

Hugs to those MIA or those that need them.
Enjoy your afternoon, albeit a bit damp ;)

Is it just me or does a whole chicken once cooked taste so much better than chicken fillets cooked?

Well have meat for lasange made, just waiting for it to cool a bit then layer it and pop in oven to finish, have chicken cooked and cooling ( apart from the piece I took for a sandwich ) chicken for curry almost defrosted. Washing dried and folled, cleaning done, shopping done.

I am on a roll lol

Wanted finished for 2 to listen to favourite local radio show but will just have to listen while finishing off lol

Doelani you are exhausting me, I am trying to have a cuppa! :D (and it tastes better because of the aroma and flavour from the bones roasting)

Good to see you about Bitsy, have a {{{hug}}} from a distance I don't want your cold! ;):D
