I got one had it a week no signal issues or any other, screen is great, that,s where it end, I was very unimpressed, managed to resell it and make £100 and gone back to the 3GS, far better phone in my view, unless apple sort it out the iflop4 may be the end of apple mobiles, I know you want an apple phone for a certain app but have a look at the samsung galaxy s this is an ipone in all bar name and running android, remember samsung make most of the stuff for apple, it will cost you the same as the iphone and it looks virtualy identical including screen layout.

  • Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!! A Windows Phone? That's really funny!!!......

.... You're not joking...... ok..... um.....right...... Did you read OP's 2nd post on this thread? No? Perhaps you should go back and look at it...... Yes; that's right. They want a phone that runs a specific app that's available for the iPhone and are talking about upgrading from their existing 3G iPhone to the new one.

Now before you get all shirty and try to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, my current phone is a Windows Phone and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Don't get me wrong; it does exactly what it says on the tin. It just lacks style, apps and is the least user friendly phone I've ever had.

I'm sure if the OP got a HD2 he would forget the one app and find something similar or better even!!

Iphony in a fashion accessory that was very well marketed, granted it works for most people, but my opinion was the HD2 is better, and the OP asked for views on it.

In regards to your windows phone, style, apps and the ability to make it user friendly can be found by using the magic of searching the internet!! The only reason why people dont like it is because they might have to open their eyes to find what they want instead of being spoon feed over marketed, over rated and frankly very expensive products from Lemon (sorry Apple).:rotfl:

But as I mention just my opinion.

Are people missing the post which says that the OP needs an iPhone for a very specific app just in order to have a pi55ing contest about who makes better phones?

Well i've had an iphone 4 since the 26th of june and i have had nothing but problems with it.
For the first two days i had it i couldnt get it to actually switch on, i tried it on a laptop wouldnt charge, tried it on the mains charger it wouldnt charge then i spent hours on the phone to orange and apple who kept saying the responsibility lay with the other to sort it out then finally got it to charge on my sons ipod docking station.
Then when i did get it to work the signal kept going even in areas where previously i had got full signal strength.
Then the battery started playing up it wouldnt even last 24 hrs . So at the moment im without a phone as its had to go back to apple for repair which will take 5 to 6 days from them receiving it and due to the iphone using a special small sim card which doesnt fit into any ordinary phone i cant use my old handset.
I could have had what they call an advance replacement but that would have cost me £29 plus they would have taken £500 off my credit card until they received my old iphone back but i dont see the diiference in that to buying a new iphone and sending the other back for a full refund.
So my advice is dont get one till they sort out the issues with it but its up to you

Get a micro sim adapter that allows the micro sim to go into any phone.

O2 were handing them out - don't know about Orange.

You should at least wait until Apple have their press conference tomorrow around 6pm to see what they plan to do to fix the iphone4 reception problem. Then make a decision based on that.

see http://video.consumerreports.org/services/player/bcpid21495733001?bctid=111613310001 this is from consumer reports from usa, which is similar to WHICH consumer organisation in the UK.

see detailed technical analysis of the antenna issue http://gizmodo.com/5577812/why-apples-iphone-4-update-wont-fix-your-reception-problem

    and http://www.anandtech.com/show/3794/the-iphone-4-review/2

oscar if you read the tech analysis you will understand why some people have the problem and not others .... who ever lives or uses the phone in a weak signal area will face the problem because of signal attenuation. by signal i mean the raw signal strength in dBm and ASU and not the sh1tty bars shown on the phone. surely you wont label reviews from consumer reports and gizmodo and the well known anandtech as HTC fan club members!
