    Cheers for that
What clothes would I need to wear
I dont really have anything :o

Depends on what you going there for?

I used to wear t-shirts and lycra bottoms. And old trainers. Have you got a personal stereo?

Actually, if you are using some of their machines, there are TVs there with earphones. Once I have earphones in, I don't usally care about the outside world.

If you are going to a spin class, then after about 5 minutes your (everybody else's) vision will be too blur to see who is wearing what.

I hope my post has not been too late. When are you going?

  • Don't give it away! This gym is an experience in itself.

Have you got any sporty looking bottoms at all? I have not got leggins, but some sort of trimmed bootleg strechy something.

Maybe you could get something dead cheap in primark or charity shop?

Sorry if I sound like I work for them on commission - I am not.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and there's been some splendid advice so far. One thought - is the gym the right place for you? When I was going to the gym I found just spending ages on the machines really boring, and I never had any motivation to go back. Instead, why not think about joining a sport group in your area? Maybe rowing, netball, swimming or running? You meet people (who don't care about looking like a footballer's wife), you get fitter, and you have a much more tangible sense of achievement. It's important for you to have time that's yours, when you're not being a mum, wife, cleaner, taxi driver!

I'd also recommend allowing for the odd treat - do you have a Lush near you? I treat myself to a bath bomb or a bar of soap once a month - £2 or £3, the girls are always so friendly, and if you ask nicely they often give you little samples! Walking into my shower room every morning and smelling the gorgeous soap reminds me of my little treat and cheers me up :D

    hi ella,

i agree with liz, it is important to have some u time. i adore lush and sometimes when i want a instant pick me up, get one of there bath bombs and just lay in the bath day dreaming, like moggins i feel this does the trick for me!!!

i also have been buying some perfume from ebay, last week i bought a huge bottle of gold star for £8.54, its normally £40  i find a little spray of that got me through work on my last week!!

    hope this helps,

    love dorry xxx

I am a very sad person and once I've established the coast is completely clear and I've got the house to myself I draw all the curtains, don the headphones and put on my new disco cd for which I paid the princely sum of 20p [or some other tasteless combo I can lay my hands on. Only proviso is that it must be fast] and dance like a thing possessed whilst yawling tunelessly. And the worst of it is that the first track on this cd is the Nolans and even worst than that is that I appear to know all the words!!! However, never fails but to cheer me up!!
