But what I was trying to say is that it's more acceptable for, say, a working class person who has always done manual work to take on such menial jobs than it is for someone who may have been an accountant or senior manager etc. Forcing such people into these jobs is deliberately humiliating them and in my view, not acceptable in a civilised society.0 -

????. What sort of programmes do you watch/listen to?:D I've never heard of it.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Your idea of self-respect is so completely alien to mine that I am not entirely sure we even belong to the same species.
Which is more demeaning? To accept money from the state when you are fit and able to earn it or to run a hoover around some lazy bints house?
The cleaner in our offices is a single mother of three. She has two other cleaning jobs, one of which she starts at 5 in the morning and the other at 9 in the evening. She is immensely proud of the fact she supports her family and I deeply resent the implication that what she does is on a par with prostitution.
I like and admire her. You on the other hand seem to regard women like her as no better than wh ores.
