How is cleaning equivalent to prostitution? My granny took on three cleaning jobs to feed her ten kids when she was widowed, rather than see them go into care. Does that make her a prossie in your eyes? Or just stupid and inferior?

Go on. I'm interested to hear what you have to say.

OK, I was a bit extreme in the analogy. But what I was trying to say is that it's more acceptable for, say, a working class person who has always done manual work to take on such menial jobs than it is for someone who may have been an accountant or senior manager etc. Forcing such people into these jobs is deliberately humiliating them and in my view, not acceptable in a civilised society.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Being a cleaner is more humiliating than claiming welfare?

    PMSL.

Need to pad this out a bit, but that's really all I had to say to that. "I get money given to me by the other people doing the job thats too humiliating for me to do...."

With a few exceptions (mostly the old, the very young and the infirm) let them get cleaning jobs.

A very old programme from the depths of history, if you don't recognise the catch phrase then I must have the wrong person, I thought it was a TV presenter involved with some of the pop charities.

They're not. Prostitutes earn a higher hourly rate.

I cannot understand why people claiming welfare should feel humiliated?

I'm sure singlesue would agree with me...

I will be honest, I really don't know how to reply to that, just to say I am glad I don't know you in real life

    Prat. Where is your self-respect?

Your idea of self-respect is so completely alien to mine that I am not entirely sure we even belong to the same species.

Which is more demeaning? To accept money from the state when you are fit and able to earn it or to run a hoover around some lazy bints house?

The cleaner in our offices is a single mother of three. She has two other cleaning jobs, one of which she starts at 5 in the morning and the other at 9 in the evening. She is immensely proud of the fact she supports her family and I deeply resent the implication that what she does is on a par with prostitution.

I like and admire her. You on the other hand seem to regard women like her as no better than wh ores.
