I picked up an Acer from Catcliffe (Sheffield) earlier this afternoon. Overall I'm pleased with the performance but a word of warning if your going to buy one, before you make your purchase ask the staff to open the box so you can check for damage as mine has a small mark on the edge of the stand.0

Hi folks.
I wandered into the Woolworths near where I work today & was very tempted by this offer.
The TV is the Techno whatstit model that is currently on the website for £499. But there was a deal running that said 'buy today for £399. Price is £499 with £100 cashback'.
Not sure if this is available in all stores, and quite how exactly the cashback thing works.
The lady behind the till said that the offer would run for a while, and not just a 1 day offer.:: No Links in signatures please - FM ::0 -

Can you find out more about the £100 cashback deal ? my local stores know nothing about this, they have no stock untill next week.
Still looks good , but I don't want to buy then get stung by a further discount a few days later.0 -

this cashback thing is wrong stores were originally told to take names and addresses 3 weeks ago, the price then went up to 499.99, so anyone who had preordered could get it at that price. NO stores should now be selling at 399.99 - the cashback thing must be an initiative for that stores - BUT its not authorised by H.O
this tv is due to go into the cagtalogue that we are launching in 3 weeks - as far as i know the price will be £399.99 in the catalogue0 -

What is Woolworths doing to improve its fortunes?
It is trying to lure in more customers, particularly by moving to a "catalogue model". Its new home catalogue, which will include more than 5,500 items will be available by the end of October.
Customers will be able to order online, by phone or in store where it plans to open a sort of "mini-Argos" department. Tills have been upgraded to allow online ordering while Woolworths has also set up in-store internet kiosks. (in certain stores)0 -
And the wheel keeps turning. :rolleyes2
A re-birth of Shoppers World, except that name has since been taken up by someone else.
For those that are too young or cannot remember, refresh.

Has anyone bought the Technosonic 32" ? Just wondering because it's available once again at my local Woolworths and wondered if anyone has had good or bad experiences with it before buying the tv ! Cheers.0

Just to update you all. I popped in to my local Woolies this morning and they have this TV (Technosonic) for £399 for today only. It is available as a pre order and delivery due sometime next week.
The till price is £499 and goes through as such. The manager then has to authorise a £100 refund (done at the same time), effortless.
The TV itself looks great and only time will tell if it will be any good but for this price happy to try. They have also set up their own technical help department as they are selling more electrical equipment. If there's a problem they will sort it out.
I got to the store (Caerphilly) at around 10:15 and they had sold a few (pre orders) and over 50 were sold in the area yesterday which makes me believe it is across a few stores so call your local one to check. Hope this helps someone.0
