  • Has anyone who bought online on Sat managed to get through the "credit card verification" in the order status yet, I have a pick up date of the 5th October, but I am concerned that without the online status moving on, I may not get my TV,
  • Can anyone advise as to how I by this with free store pickup. The moment I select checkout/buy now, whatever, it automatically add the £19.99 for delivery then asks for credit/debit card details. Will I have the option on the next screen as I don't want to commit if it costs £20 more than going into the store?? Also at what point do I enter the quidco code.

    Thanks in advance.
  • Hi All

I registered on here to offer a bit of advice to people and to tell my story on this TV.

I've been nagging the wife for months about buying a 32" HD Ready LCD just so i can use my Xbox to it's full capabilities. The wife works at Woollies and came home with their new catalogue the other day which showed this Technosonic offering in the catalogue, albeit the silver version, it was however advertised at £399. Her boss got wind of the fact i was interested and mentioned they had, in stock, a black version of this set. I was very dubious of the brand and of the price becuase i initially wanted the Samsung 32" Bordeaux version which i had seen on the net for around £650.

The store manager at my wife's store was very accomodating and let me not only view the TV working in private but also let me run through the manual to discover what it was capable of doing. All the connections are there i need, and i have to say that for £399 you cannot go wrong with this TV.

Yes, there are better quality TV's out there that may have a slightly better quality image but if you're like me and only want this for limited use then you will not be disappointed at all. The set looks stylish, has good sound and doesn't let you down on picture quality with the Xbox at all. I'm yet to purchase a Sky HD box because i don't think there's enough programmes in HD yet to justify the £299 Sky are asking. BBC will start broadcasting in HD next year and i'm sure the Sky box will drop in price, as did the Sky+ box after that had been around a few months.

To cap it all with the price of this TV my wife gets 10% staff discount so i think £360 is excellent for what you get. I read the notes on here regarding this being a badged Thomson set and myself and the store manager can confirm this is correct. (We took the badge off and stuck it back with Super Glue). Had to order in-store and whilst delivery date on receipt says 25th October, he assures me delivery will be this Thursday (5th). Woe betide him if he's wrong.

Hope this helps people, if you want budget, this is the set for you.

I am in the same boat, bought mine on-line on Sat and still waiting for "Awaiting Security Check" stage to complete. Sent a message to them and this is the reply I have got

"Hi thanks for your email. All "awaiting security check" means is that the details of your order are going through various security checks like confirmation of your credit card details and address. A confirmed date will soon be up to view on the website this just takes a couple of days. Hope this helps Many thanks Imran Rashid MCR Advisor"

I will have been waiting 48 hours as of about now

Hi again, thanks for the replies. Does the Quidco code not work anymore? I thought that a few people have said that they got the tv for £399.99 - 5%??

    Thanks again.

    Hi all,

Does anyone know if the silver version mentioned as in the catalogie will be the same model? My other half doesn't want a black TV.

    Thanks,

    Dre
... and that's all I have to say about that.
