just came across this link and while the TV cost more is it a better option ? LG 37" hd ready from empiredirect.co.uk (sorry don't know how to link).
The tv code is Lg Electronics 37LC2RA at £699 plus £25 del (-2% quidco) so works out around £710 all in.

They had them in my local Woolies yesterday (Beaconsfield) and it is not a large store. I asked the sales assistant and they had not had many enquiries so far!! This was at 10 am. After reading all these comments, yes it is a really good price but as my old CRT is still OK, think I will wait and see if Tosh and others come down in price.
After all £400 is £400 and if in a year or two's time there are sets out which are full HD (no box required), I think that will be the business.

Empire Direct have a sale on and have the Toshiba 32WL66 at £599.99. You can get 2% off through Quidco and it's £15 delivery. They were recently offering a free 5 year guarantee on all TV's, but it looks like that might have just stopped.

Empire Direct do have free 4 year guarantees on Hitachi's, making this quite a good deal...Hitachi 32LD6600 at £599.99, making it about £602 all in through Quidco and delivery.

Well that remote looks the same as used on the Thomson DHD4000 PVR to me. Wonder if u had both whether they would interfere?

    Rob

Just thought I'd update. No intereference between the two remotes but you can control both the PVR and TV with the PVR remote as it has a TV button on it. Whatever device you select is the only one that reacts so no problems at all for anyone who has both.
  • Anyone got this wall mounted yet? What bracket are you using and where did you get it?

    Cheers.
  • There's no Thomson under the badge on my set :(

I don't think they would so cheap as to stick one on top of the other anyway! They might with the remotes, but not the sets!
  • Some people said they've got the Thomson on the set and the remote.
  • Got mine this morning - bl$$dy credit refused to go though (something to do with the xbox saga at tesco's :p;) as it takes 3 days for the funds to hit back to my account) anyways, had to use debit card so will shuffle around the £400 that I put on there :)

Anyways, it beats hands down against the £700 unit from Argos (Wharfedale) better picture quality and even supports VGA (PC) {which the £700 one from argos doesn't} and HD RCA (for the Xbox 360) Brilliant - so the argos one will be going back today when I drop off the kids. OVerall I saved £300 :D and this TV even sells for around €1100 euros in France (froggle)

    Brilliant vaule for money.

This is defo a Thomson model as the remote had it under the Technosonic label and I removed the one on the TV and its looking even better now - perfect against a chocolate brown wall next to the fire place :D

Now any good glass LCD stands anywhere?
