  • For anyone in Glasgow, just popped down to the forge woollies and they have sold out! also none available in the other Glasgow stores, just my luck.
  • The Thomson does look like it's the same TV.
  • if the store have sold out whats the best thing to do to get one quickly?

    order online or order instore?

assume stores will get them in regularly now?

The Thomson does look like it's the same TV.

Its bugging me whether this is the thomson, certainly looking the same from the outside, the thomson link at
    http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/Thomson-32LB125B5.htm says
Digital Pure Sound 2x16W music power : a direct frontal and powerful Bass restitution for a full cinema sensation, Virtual Dolby Surround

Can anyone confirm if the manual mentions sound output/Virtual Dolby Surround? If it is the same Tv then this is a true bargain.

actually, just looking at the spec sheet for the Thomson at http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/32LB125B5.pdf

The thomson has an EAN number (barcode)of 324448019305 would this be on the back of the Technosonic?

Thomson size is 96*56*22 (rounded up to nearest cm), the Technosonic size as shown on woollies website is Height 56cm Length 22cm Width 93cm. Almost the same...

Finally the sound menu for the Thomson is
    Sound presets
    My sound / music

    Sound presets (2)
    Film / Voice / Flat / Standard
can anyone confirm if its the same for the technosonic(shuld be able to check via onscreen menus)

    Thanks!
  • I bought one of these sets from Woolies in Worthing today (they had 3 in stock this morning) It looked fine in the shop playing a DVD, although the picture was slightly darker than the model next to it (sorry can't remember the make) I've now got it setup at home using NTL Digital and Teresttrial TV and am very pleased with it. I'm sure there are better sets out there, but not at this sort of price.

The build quality seems very good; on-screen display is very responsive and the interface is very logical - overall it feels like a well made bit of kit. I watched a bit of the football on Sky sports via NTL and it was fine (i.e. no problems caused by the set - just the usual problems caused by NTL's over-compression of channels) No problem with the sound quality either.

To try and answer a previous poster's questions - I've taken a couple of pictures of the on-screen sound menu and one of the remote control. See link below.

    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phines/pics/techsonic/

Finally, when configuring the NTL remote to enable it to control the TV (Volume, on/off etc.) I entered the Thomson Remote codes into the NTL remote, and it worked (before that I'd tried Samsung, LG, Toshiba etc but they all failed)

    Hope that helps.
  • PS - almost forgot - dimensions are 96 x 56 x 22 (I included the stand when measuring the height and depth)

And yes, it looks identical to the picture of the Thomson in the link earlier in this thread (Thomson 32LB125B5)
  • Has anyone got theirs wall mounted? If so what bracket did you use?

    Thanks

Thanks for the info zoomout, def looks like the Thomson then. Current Tv is a Thomson CRT although it might have to make way for this. Its a steal at that price. Enjoy ;)
  • Hi guys, got this today at kinnaird Park Edinburgh and it is def. a rebadged Thompson, I have removed the Technosonic badge on both the remote control and front of tv and it has Thompson underneath. I have still to get it set up so can not comment yet but it seems a good deal :j , I was told that Woolworths were making a loss on the sets so they could get more add on sales and more customers through the doors, one assistant also said that it was to annoy Argos and Tesco prior to the Woolworths catalogue launch.
