Parents evening tonight didn't go too well, in fact he struggled to say anything positive at all :(:( Turns out the reward chart that ds has been telling me he's getting full marks in has actually been the opposite and he's hardly taken any notice of it and doesn't seem motivated by it. He has it seems developed his father ability to lie to me convincingly though, and has been telling me what he thought I'd like to hear rather than the truth :o:o This bit upset me more than anything else ....

Basically the main problem is that he will not settle to his work and therefore they're having a continual battle to get him to do anything. He says he's bored and doesn't want to learn :o

I can relate to this so much. My DS2 is just turning 7. He was very disruptive in his year 1 class, so much so that he was going up classes each term. Then they realised that he is really intelligent and once they were setting him the work of the top of the stream, he has been fine.

So it wouldn't surprise me if he is bored. Especially if he is saying that. And the thing with the willies, oh my is that bad behaviour? I thought that was just boys being boys! And discovering their bodies.

Sorry that it was such a pants parents evening. We always get a mixed bag with our two as they are both very bright, but have behaviour issues too.

Good luck with sorting it out, and good luck with the ending of the stuff with OH.It is rotten that you have to use him as a messenger, because of all the stuff that is going on which is of ex OH's making!

Thanks Chev, have calmed down about parents evening now but will be going in for another chat after half-term ;)

So I've dragged myself out of bed, still feel quite pants and have put the heating on  Usually hold out til the end of October so haven't done too bad, but its just so wet and miserable and I'm feeling yucky, so need it to be cosy indoors today :)

Ds and I are currently making some halloween decs that I got from poundland, and have put up some other halloween bits. We did a pumpkin at the weekend in Devon and its huge, I love pumpkins, we never did them as kids but they are such fun and a cheap thing to do with ds :)

Morning all, I'm feeling quite a bit better today, ds is going to mums today to paint her fence and make a Guy Fawkes :) While he's out I'm finally going to get the housework done and sort the finances. It must be done today, thats it, haven't got masses of stuff planned so no excuse really for not getting it done ;)

Nothing much else to report at the moment, I might also have a mooch through the Ikea catalogue, fancy some more storage space, either in the lounge, the kitchen or ds bedroom, will see what they have that may fit/ not be too expensive / look nice :)

I overdosed on Ikea too much in my student days, but they still can't be beaten sometimes on chep furniture ;)

Mum just called, she's going up the wall ... dad just made a cup of coffee, but rather than using a mug he opened the cutlery drawer and made it in there :o She said theres coffee, sugar, water and milk sloshing round in it :(:(

Ok, ds has gone to mums, I've just had scrambled eggs on toast for brunch and now I need to crack on. I'm picking him up at 5.30 (stopping at mums for roast chicken for dinner ;)), so I have 6 hours to blitz the place and do the finances.

    The plan is:

    11.30-1.00: blitz the housework
    1.00-2.00: lunch and internet moochtime
    2.00-4.00: finances
    4.00-5.00: housework bits
    5.00-5.30: internet mooch

    Be back at 1 :D

I don't mind at all Tigz, you're welcome here or we can come to you, I don't mind at all :D But yep, totally agree it needs to be cheap ;)

So I'm back on here and its before 1 ... however, I have done loads so far, the place is looking reasonable now, I am going to do the finances now (not at all hungry yet for lunch so will skip that hour), then carry on with the housewrok later on. Its presentable enough now if the doorbell went, but theres still stuff to be done to make it properly done if that makes sense?? :D

It makes perfect sense, and it is how I judge mine now - does it pass the CHAOS benchmark!

Sorry to read about your Dad, again, - must be a case of being prepared for anything, in particular the things that you least expect. Very draining I guess. Hugs for both you and your mum, but also for your dad xxx

So, I've spent ages going over the finances and I feel rubbish  Even though last month I managed to get everything back straight before the month started, I seem (even though I have been tracking although not as well as I should have), to have ended up overspending by £67 :( and theres still 2 more days until payday ....... GRRR ...

So, I will once again move this from the isa and learn from it for Novembers budget.

I have also looked at the overall target, for the year my aim was to reduce my mortgage to £32,000. Currently I need another £654 in the mortgage pot to meet this target. IF, (and it is a very big if right now), I get November and Decmbers maintenace money this will account for £590 of it, meaning I only need to find another £64 and £100 for the holiday pot between now and the new year. However, there is a big likelihood that I won't get the maintenance money. I am not going to push myself to meet the target though as that would be stretching it too far. I have to be careful over the next couple of months not to overspend again anyway, so my priority will be to get through christmas and new year without dipping into the isa again.

So, the aim now for the rest of 2010 is £64 into the mortgage pot, £100 into the holiday fund and all the accounts remaining in credit :D:D Off now quickly to look at Novembers budget, it shouooldn't be too bad as we're at school for the whole month, just need to be careful with the Christmas budgeting ;):)
