If only I could sort my head then I'm sure my life would follow suit -
healthy eating + exercise = weight loss
tidy & clean house = organised
etc
Just never have the time!
Any tips?
About twenty years ago, I read an article in the Daily Mail from Carole Caplin who later became famous as Tony Blair's confidante. She wrote a book called Holistix or something like that and I found it very helpful. I think the term "holistic" refers to getting down to sorting the problem out at root cause and everything else falls into place then.
My house is tidier right now than at anytime in the past two years and I feel better too. Also getting there in terms of financial organisation as well but that's the longer road.
Sorry to hijack your thread BB...:o0 -
No advice I'm afraid RCP, all four are linked really, by doing the tidying / getting organised you have less time to be eating ... its so easy in theory but its just not the same in practice is it
Today has been a good day, I went over to crouchys tonight and had dinner together, was nice to catch up
One of ds's top teeth came out today so he was very excited about the tooth fairy coming to visit tonightOther than petrol (£20) I haven't spent anything else today.

I agree. My house is so disorganised. And alot that could be organised easily is my OHs! I ask him to do something about it, and another weekend goes by without it happening. I am really getting to the point where I am going to list all the old computer stuff as a job lot and someone can get a bargain. It would clear a meter square space!
Then there are all the clothes that need to get listed and there are ALOT. I am torn between getting rid of them (easy I volunteer in a charity shop just take the boxes there), getting rid but cheap (put them on trade me for min price), or getting a decent amount of money for them (trademe but higher start price, slower turnover). ho hum.....
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Morning all, didn't get a chance to post yesterday, was a hectic day
Ds other top tooth came out last night just before bed, so he is loving the tooth fairy right nowBless him he sounds so funny when he talks, all lispy
Todays plans involve getting and delivering a birthday present for a friend, food shopping, housework, dropping ds off to meet his dad and visiting my dad.
We went to visit my dad last night and he seemed much more settled this time around which was nice. He was away with the fairies most of the time we were there but overall he seemed more contented.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Aah, finally made it home ... and relax
Today has been very productive; ds helped me tidy the flat this morning (still needs cleaning though), then he did his homework , we went shopping for a friends birthday present and delivered it, then went to Next and returned a pair of boots, then on to a local mini theme park as my tesco vouchers for it were going to run out this week. After that we packed ds bag and went to meet muppet, then I went to visit dad for an hour or so then tescos for the food shopping and petrol and I've just finished unpacking it all and can finally sit down on the sofa and chill :j
I'm really pleased that I've got loads of bitty jobs done today too. I have spent oodles of money though£28 on friends birthday, £42 on petrol , £43 on food, £15 at the theme park, £6.50 on a present for ds teacher at the end of term (a gorgeous gruffalo big tin which I will fill with sweets or biscuits. They have studied the gruffalo and done puppets / poems / model making etc and ds has loved doing it so thought it was more appropriate than a standard box of sweets).

Morning all, managed a li-in until 8 this morning which was lovely. Todays plan is to get the end of month finances sorted, get all paperwork sorted, have a bath and collect ds at 3, then visit dad.
The promised heatwave hasn't arrived here yet, its looking decidely gloomy at the moment  I want to get everything straight again today as I have a fairly easy week ahead (inset day tomorrow, no kids in school on thursday either), so it would be nice to have quite a relaxing week

End of the month finances have been checked and I am already £11 overspent with another 4 days to go until payday
I shouldn't need to spend much else though as I went food shopping yesterday and the car is full of petrol too.
Time now for my bath and then I'll tackle the paperwork. Looks like the sun has finally remembered its supposed to be making an appearance today tooMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Woohoo, I just won £86 on a £5 risk free offer :j :j Very happy bunny now
Think I'll use £20 of it towards the overspends this month, then I can either pay off Next (£43) and put the rest in the mortgage pot (£23), or put some in the car maintenace pot ... hmm, nice decisions to have to make
