  • Sorry to hear about your dad and hugs to you too. Has your mum tried Age UK (was Age Concern) they offer help in the home, and mobility aids, might be work calling in to see them or giving them a call. Hope your mum gets some help in the home so she can get a break. x

Evening all, survived my first day back :)
Spam??? Spam??? Ooh, my threads well and truly made it now if I've got my own spammer :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the good wishes re. mum and dad, I went round to see them after school tonight and he seems a bit brighter today, mum managed to get him dressed today which was a positive, and tomorrow shes determined they're going out for a drive somewhere ;) I did chat with her and she feels ashamed at not being able to cope with him on her own :( My sister and I have both tried to convince her and I think shes coming round to the idea of having some help but shes not quite there yet :o

So tonight I did w1/d2 of the c25k, only one more to go this week and then it really steps up next week, well it goes up from jogging for 30 second intervals to 1 minutes intervals which I know in the scheme of things is still not very much at all, but for me its going to be a huge leap ;)

Today was also the day that the csa were taking a payment from the ex and were going to call me once that was done .... still waiting the call

Evening Benben - been thinking about you and your parents today. Nearly missed your post - had to go to all my subscribed threads and found it there.

I have to say that I think your mum does an admirable job in caring for your dad - as you know my FIL is in a care home with dementia and OH and I often comment on how well the staff do care for the patients. And they are only staff, not family! I don't think I could do it.

Just submitted my electricity meter reading for February, we used £46 last month. Not too bad as the dd is £45 per month, but the heating has hardly been on and it was a short month :o

But it is now getting lighter so less use (albeit slight) of the lights. We had a monitor thingy from Npower and I have been recording how much we use on a day to day basis. Watching the usage shoot up when the oven is on for instance, is quite scary! I also dared to put the tumble drier on (don't tend to use it if I can help it) and OMG! I just need to work out how much the kwh per day equates to in money. I think that will really scare me.
