Help - Wheels Spinning

Maybe you should trade it for something more in keeping with "your driving style"
Ford KA perhaps?0 -
If your tyres were previously underinflated then you would see increased grip, though it comes at the cost of accelerated and uneven tyre wear. If you had adjusted your driving style to this situation, then at the service your tyres were put back to the correct pressure then it could cause the effect you describe.
FWIW, when I test drove an RX8 they had a lot less grip at the back than I expected, in finding that out I managed to upset the elderly sales rep who accompanied me despite knowing nothing about the car
Out of interest, what are your usage patterns? The RX8 is a car that actually benefits if you give it a good revving from time to time. Won't help your grip issue but will help your engine.0 -
Someone hasn't pressed the TC button trying to turn on the A/C?
what everytime she gets in the car?? the t/c button if fitted will need to be pressed every start up as the system resets after every switch off,not to mention when system is turned off there would be the warning light illuminated on dash.
not sure if the rx8 has t/c or limited slip diff?? would assume so but if you are getting wheel spin and it is definately wheelspin then they are not working properly in order to re-gain some traction so i would pop in to dealer and get a road test with a technician so you can demonstrate the problem,as you are a customer anyway some dealers would not charge for a roadtest (we never when i was at vauxhall)0 -
On a serious note the cars I have had with traction control all required it to be manually selected to off and defaulted to on after every journey.
On a less serious note can I have details of the garage Jannine?, I'd like a tune up like youv'e just had :rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Didn't realise you knew me and had seen me drive?!
Ford KA from an RX8 - are you joking!!! Been driving my RX8 for 2 years and can say honestly that the car has never felt like it does right now. But thanks for the helpful suggestion, will run it pass my hubby!! :rotfl::heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Hold in the DSC button under the air con, with the engine running for 10 seconds, both the TSC and the DSC lights should come on.
Turn off the car, re-start it, and the system should re-set with both lights out. If not there is a fault somewhere.0 -
Just out of interest what tyres is the car fitted with, my thoughts are it's a tyre problem.0
-
Make of tyres is a good point actually. 9000 - 10000 miles is about where I would expect the tyres to need replacing. Maybe the garage replaced them with Linglongs to save a bit of money.0

Even with traction control off you'd still need to give it a boot to get the wheels spinning. If you pull away gently and still get it, probably the clutch, if not then your tyres could be wrong (i.e. bald, poor brand, too old or underinflated) or perhaps a suspension issue adjusting the camber.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0
