Wheels spin when you overcome the level of grip.Less throttle gives you more grip.As said roads do get very greasy when it rains after a dry spell but nothing an average driver shouldn't be able to cope with.
No its not a joke! Its been happening for a few weeks now, not just after rain, it hasn't rained here for weeks so the roads are bone dry. So that's the only thing that causes wheels to spin, greasy roads?:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

As I have said my driving hasn't changed, I'm a sensible driver, don't speed or whiz round corners. I'm just a little concerned and that's why I asked for advice.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

If the roads have been dry and then it rains then it creates a really greasy surface as the oils and detergents are brought to the surface by the rain. Once it rains long enough then it all gets washed down the drains. The man without a signature.0

I would go and get the Clutch checked before you burn it out completely.
I didn't think it would be the clutch, the car is only 2 years old in October and has only done 9,000 miles. I don't ride the clutch either, I will take it back tothe dealer though and get them to check as its still under warranty.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

If you've done only 9000 miles in ywo years - that means lots of short journeys - it'll wear most items on a car much faster than lots of motorway miles.
Sorry, I didn't mean to be facetious with my 'chav' comment, I'm trying to help you here. I really don't see how it can be your tyres.0 -
Wheels on a car don't start spinning on dry roads for no reason. Has the TC failed on your car? Any warning lights on the dashboard?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

No offence taken with the chav comment! The tyres look ok to me, but I'm no expert. Think the best thing is for me to take it back to the garage and let them have a look.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

TC = traction controlSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

oh please, if your wheels are spinning then your traction control has either been turned off by accident or broken, its not exactly a difficult one to work out0
