I saw this card advertised on a pop up on a website I visited - so I applied (I had been turned down by Vanquis)
I did an on line application Monday evening - they called me today at work - asked a few questions and said congratulations you have been accepted - card and welcome pack with be with you 7 - 10 days.

I am 4 years post bankrupt discharge and stil have coop cashminder account, dispite having a really good salary of 40k I cant get an upgraded current account, however the coop account is ok and does the job.

    So its worth applying

Co-Op are VERY strict and won't let you have a full account until you've been discharged for five years and the BR has dropped off your credit file.

Other banks only tend to check back 36 months, and as long as you have no unstatisfied adverse credit, and have had 100% spotless history for the last three years you'll be fine for a full a/c.

Well done on getting this card, do let us know the limit and possibly post a pic if possible?

    Thanks :o

If you have been rejected in the last 6 months, then you can't apply.

    Hello Again,
I was rejected by Vanquis 5 mths ago, maybe Vanquis do not do the scoring or search ? I am not sure but Granite said accepted which was all I wanted to hear. I will use it and pay it off each month to better my credit rating.
I use a cashplus gold card - transfer £1000 per month from salary and use it like a normal card - infact I have saved more as I dont use what is left in my current account.

Am I glad I went bankrupt - YEAH no problems with it, its all about sorting your life out. I was able to get credit for a new car, still have the coop cashminder, cashplus card and now Granite when it arrives

I will let you know what the limit they set is!

    Hi Michael

How did you go with this?

I applied for the granite card about 4 weeks ago on their website, never heard a thing then out of the blue this morning I got "the call" from Vanquis, asked me a few question then was told I had been accepted car be with me within 7 days :)

Very please first credit card of my own for a long time :)

  • I have just applied and it said it will be processed manually and they will be in touch within 10-14 days. Has anyone actually got one of these cards yet?

Yep, mine arrived last week with a credit limit of £500.

When I applied I also wasn't given an immediate decision and got a message saying someone would be in touch. They phoned a few times, but I missed their calls. Then, last week the card arrived in the post.
  • Hello Again,
Yes my card arrived credit limit £500 despite the hight interest rate the best thing is to use it and pay it off each month it will improve my credit file.
all in all it was a good service from Granite which is processed by Vanuis.

Very please nice looking card, I cannot show you a pic as my scanner has decided to pack up! It is however exactly the same as the card image on the granite site, looks really nice TBH :)

Starter credit limit of £250 not bothered about that and hopefully it will increase in the same manner as a normal Vanquis card does.

Looks very smart, more like a card that should have a 20k limit rather than £250 lmao, beggears cant be choosers ;)

Going to see if I can register it via evanquis now will report back.
