i know still going to be a complete mess and i really cant see how some parts of the white paper will work, the main bit that worrys me is this

    - GP will control the whole budget and be responsible for comissioning services.

    - the GP consortia will not be bailed out financially if they over spend

so what happens when they overspend? do they have to go bankrupt?

if they go bankrupt does that mean all services commissioned by them will no longer happen - including the GP surgeries themselves?
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • Morning everyone,

Butti, congratulations on the offer of a Master placement and it's great to hear your eyes are feeling better.

Ellimoo, I think a large bottle of wine is in order later, I hope your son has a great party.

    Beanie - hello.

    Bunny - hello too!

SRM, you're really into your keep fit lark at the moment, can you pass soem of your energy myway please?

    Gonzo, keep smiling.

Sally, sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather. An early night is in order. ;)

It's raining here but still really warm and the rain has caused my hair to go frizzy!! ARGH.

I again dreamt that I was lost in New York with no idea on how I go there. Well it's obvious on a plane! I didn't make a tv appearance this time. I wonder if I can clock up airmiles in my dreams? :rotfl:

    Lots of love,

Well I've finally pulled my finger out Beanie-6 weeks till the hols..I hate being "fat" on holiday. Regrettably, I didn't get to fly Concorde..there didn't seem to be any rush,I could do it anytime I liked...till they announced they were stopping it and then all the seats sold out immediately! DH flew on it a couple of times though, they had to pour him off the acft once! I remember being on a trip with DH when he was on the 747,I went to Barbados with him (a 7 day stay at the Barbados Hilton -fab!) and Concorde beat up the beach at about 500ft..it was stunning-the whole beach applauded ! Then later we all met up at a local restaurant and got rip roaring drunk..ah, those were the days...eating at The Cliff on valentines night watching all the cruise ships leave....do I miss it????

    What do you think!
    Debt-free...and staying that way...

    Hi Gonzo,

I was reading about the White Paper yesterday and the one thing that struck me was how would GPs be qualified to handle the finances of a surgery? Surely their expertise lies elsewhere...? Would they receive training I presume? I know my Mum (who is Principal of a school) said that it has turned that way in Education in recent years and she finds it enormously difficult as her training was (obviously) in teaching and not accountancy!

    Hi Sally,

Just a wee thought, have you received any free gifts with magazines lately? Also, I use LoveF1lm for DVD rental and they sent me 2 free cards for friends and they get 2-3 months free DVD rental from them....I have put them straight into my Christmas presents box for my nephews - I think they will love it!! :j
