I really miss buying lots of designer clothes and other general shopping like DVD's etc.
However, I don't miss going out as I have nothing to wear anyway! I think I'm turning into Herman the Hermit....

It may sound selfish and some people would look at my past SOA and think im a nob for saying we earn this and spend that... but no one, no one has had the feeling on how I feel.... Im typing as I think so excuse me if this isnt typed correctly... but I do know there are people who are worse off far far far far and beond worse than me... but sometimes, I feel bad.. very bad and do at the moment.
Lotto at 22:30.. I promise... if I hit the jackpot... were havin a party !

I miss:
- Buying loads of books & CDs (although I now have loads, including many I haven't yet got around to reading/listening to, so I'm not really missing out there! Plus there's the library of course).
- Buying loads of magazines - now limited to just occasionally, usually the cheaper ones
- Buying clothes - not buying any until loan is cleared
- Working fewer hours
- Spontaneous purchases - everything is accounted for in advance at the moment
- Unlimited weekly food shop - used to just buy what I felt like, usually in large quantities, and since I have expensive tastes, food bills were huge
- Holidays & home improvements - both on hold until debt is cleared
What I don't miss:- Never knowing how much money I'd have left each month (I generally did have enough, but that was more because of luck than judgment!)
- The feeling of not being in control of my money - I was never a compulsive spender, but because I wasn't planning my purchases or budgeting, I wasn't really in control
(not really luxuries as such, more states of mind)0 - Buying loads of books & CDs (although I now have loads, including many I haven't yet got around to reading/listening to, so I'm not really missing out there! Plus there's the library of course).

I really miss those spontaneous nights out. You know leave work on a friday, running round london, lovely meal, cocktails, tapas, nightclubs, jazz clubs, taxis home. A night out now is a long discussion on whether we can afford it, and a constant search for deals, vouchers, offers and so on. Sometimes I get bored of it. And just want to go out and have fun without worrying about it.
I miss being out and about and needing a few bits of food adn just popping in to M&S which is the most convenient, and thus having to go on a 30 min detour to tescosI miss being able to say, just for once I cant be bothered to cook, lets have a takeaway, again without unpteen discussions on whether we can afford it. Or Ill pop into M&S/waitrose ad get a nice ready meal (I wont eat them from anywhere else!)
I dont miss that feeling at the cash point 5 days after payday going, sorry, you are over your OD Dont miss that at all :T:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
M&S king prawns with that chili sauce. M&S in general.
I certainly am not missing that postman-induced stomach dread though0 -

What I miss is the feeling that if I want I can quit my horrible job for a less well paid more enjoyable one. I HATE my job right now, but can't quit as I'm committed to paying off the Debts of Doom. Thusly I feel a bit trapped.
However, I don't miss the paniced feeling when you realise a payment is about to go out of your already overstretched overdraft, and there's no money going in in the forseeable future. - That you're trapped because you have no money and thus no power to do anything!
Since MSE though, I seem to have much more money, as I'm not paying it in interest rates etc... My debt has become manageable! I can still have the odd holiday or meal out, as long as I plan for it carefully and buy wisely. Also, because I no longer have a crippling overdraft, there is a bit of a super-emergency cushion in case things go wrong, as the facility for an OD is still available - although I'm planning on develping a real money cushion so I never have to get in to debt again, even in emergencies!Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Why not try making your own sushi - it is easy to make and you can get all the ingredients in Waitrose or similar stores. It takes a bit of practice but is not difficult and you can have some fun with it.
Ingredients from Waitrose?!?!?! Are you kidding?!?! Sushi is very easy to make, the rolling takes a steady hand and some practice but it's fun. I go to Chinatown and the asian supermarkets to get my ingredients. Cheap as chips and the real thing!0
