1) Develop a cushion of at least £100 in my bank account to stop me going in to overdraft through unexpected expenses. Done - but I need to spend it on my MOT shortly!
2) List my old phone on ebay. Not done because I'm rubbish
3) Spend as little as possible to counteract slight overstretching this week. Done.

Hope you feel better now!
Last week was rubbish for me too as I was tired and grouchy from being on stage every night and spent money on takeaways and chocolate (thereby not helping the diet or the debt)!!!!.0 -

Know the feeling! I'm working late most nights, so when I get home, I really just want to eat junk and watch telly - my bank balance is shrinking proportionately to the rate my bum is growing!:rotfl:Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Which to start with?!?
I guess the good thing!
I have lent my sister my car for two months as she desparately needed one to complete the outplacement research for her dissertation and she's a poor student. In return she has paid the increase in the insurance premium for me, and is also going to pay the two months' worth of loan instalments for me. She moved this money over to my bank account today as one lump sum. As I'm making the payments on the loan easily, I'm going to use this lump sum to entirely clear my graduate loan!
This is my only debt that I pay interest on (apart from my student loan) and will be a big psychological push! Hooray! :T :T
Another little good thing is that I should be have just over £100 of Quidco money going into my account in the next couple of days. I am going to pay extra off my credit card with this.
Bad Thing
I have just received a statement from the student loans company (you only get one once a year). Even though I am regularly paying amounts from my salary, this will not be shown until next tax year so this one only shows the additional increase of interest!!!!
This means that my debt has actually gone up to £9,100.00 now.

Debt (once move lump sum from sister over later today as explained above)
Natwest Overdraft (£1,000 @ 0%) = £998.19
Natwest Graduate Loan (6.5%) = £0.00 YEAY
Cahoot Car Loan (5.8%) = £3,562.11
Credit Card (NSPCC, 0%) = £1,850.00
Student Loan = £9,100.00
TOTAL = -£15,510.30
TOTAL PAID OFF SINCE START OF CHALLENGE = £3,025.51becsxxx wrote:goals- Sort out insurance for sister and get her to pay me a lump sum for that and use of the car! Done - see above
- Continue with survey sites - YouGov, Pinecone research, Pureprofile etc. has have been neglecting invitations alot this week! Done - and received £25 of John Lewis vouchers and £4 Boots vouchers in the post this week for various efforts!
- Start keeping a spending diary again to see where exactly those pennies go! I did this before and it was very successful at helping me save, but have got very lazy recently! Done - total spend last week = £121.85 but probably an unusual week because of the show so let's see how this week goes!

1) Spend as little as possible (for the rest of this month and the beginning of next month) to minimise damage to current account balances.
2) Mirror balance of my credit card in my savings account to avoid any more unpleasant "oh poo, i have no money" situations again (this is an ongoing goal).
3) Do any YouGov/Pinecone surveys that come up (also ongoing).
4) Update diary with debt totals and spending.
5) Claim back £30 (joint account) in bank charges from FD
6) Write a few complaint letters to companies to see if I can't get some free stuff/money back.

Hi all,
Update:
1) Bar car servicing, not doing to badly on this one
2) Ongoing!
3) Yup, several YouGovs done
4) Done
5) Claimed back £50 from FD on my old current account (!) - still got to do the £30 on the joint account but I'm only doing one at a time
6) Nope, too lazy and sceptical
In other news:
It appears that I can't count and I've been undercalculating my debts so I've updated my signature...oh well!
Keep on going!
