Do peoples terms put you off bidding?

I never bid on items where the seller is asking for the buyer to leave feedback first

I would still bid, but would probably not bother to leave feedback.
Sellers don't seem to realsie that buyers don't need feedback, so if they are desperate for feedback leave it for me first and I'll leave it back. Otherwise I'll get round to it in batches every week or so, unless they've hassled for it or have silly statements and I might not bother.
I have dedicated buying accounts with a fair amount of feedback on all of them, why on earth as a buyer do I need more feedback?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have found this discussion really useful. I have a (small) list of T&C on my listings but never thought they might put anyone off (except the idiot buyers who you hope won't bid). Basically I thought it was best to be really really clear with people but having read through this discussion it seems as if that really doesn't help.
I'm not a business - I just declutter my house and my collections every now and again but I have never had a paypal dispute opened up against me and I have 100% positive feedback, so I thought I was doing all the right things. But I have noticed lately that bids are far fewer than there used to be, so will try cutting out all the T&C and see how it goes.0 -
The ones that put me off is something like "Nice blue top. Size 16. 99p start" and then 4 paragraphs of 'terms and conditions'. I look at it and think, I like the top but I simply don't have enough time in my life to read a small novel just to buy it!!Thinking it over...:o0

You are right, when silly t&c are hidden within several paragraphs of text, it's a NO NO straight away!0 -
I had an email from EBAY asking me to leave feedback for certain transactions , i have reasons i didnt leave the feedback , and ebay TELLING me to makes me want to leave what i was going to leave in the first place , ie negative/neutral0

A good way of saying 'please don't mess with my feedback':
When you receive your item, please check that you are happy with it and then, if you would like, please leave me positive feedback. Once I know that you are satisfied with your purchase and the sale is completed, I will leave positive feedback for you.
If, for any reason, you are not 100% happy with your purchase, please email me before leaving feedback so that I can resolve the problem for you. I offer a full money-back guarantee, including postage costs, if any item is not as described. This is subject to return of the item to me.
If your item fails to arrive, please contact me so that we can work together to track it down. If Recorded / Signed For or Special Delivery options have not been taken up, I do still obtain a Certificate Of Posting for every item and will file for a refund from the Post Office.
If you have any queries at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Good luck and thanks for looking.

You are right, it seems that sellers cannot actually control this, but they would suffer for eBay pestering buyers!0 -
It probably wouldn't put me off but it is enough to get your listing pulled and a warning on your seller dashboard. You must not say you will refuse paypal, people do get suspended for terms like that.
For such a cheap item, and since you say you'd give it away anyway, take out the cash requirement, merely say that cash on collection is allowed. Then when a buyer wins get to them immediately by email asking for cash..don't give them the chance of paying by paypal. Even if they do pay by paypal it is not a usually scammed item, so I really wouldn't worry.
I would not risk my account for the sake of a few pence.
Thanks Soolin - I have revised the listing now. As you say, not worth the risk for a few pennies.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

It is a bit strong, but if people dont like his terms (how enforcible they are I dont know!), they dont have to bid on the item. Its simple really

I always include some terms on my items as I've been mucked around with feedback. I.E, people haven't left me feedback as a seller when I have left them feedback as a buyer.
I always put that buyer feedback will be given when item has been recieved and seller feedback has been left for me. I think you have to include some of your own terms because there are people on ebay who are more than happy to take the slash. Thankfully, they are in the minority (IMHO anyway).
TBH I hate this. Feedback should be left appropriately, regardless of the other persons actions. AS a buyer, if I pay promptly I expect feedback to show that. As a seller, if the item is posted promptly and is received as in the described condition, positive feedback is to be expected.
As a buyer, if I have a problem, and the seller responds well, I always leave a positive. Not everyone does, but whether ebay or any other form of shopping, there's always customers who're arsicles.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0
