Yeah I know, but there will always be some smart git who comes along with obscure precedent if you say it's totally and definitley illegal. There was a news item recently about a £5000-worth shilling ring being cracked, so it is most definitely illegal.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Wouldn't put me off unless it was incredibly stupid listing like payment within 36 seconds of auction end, £10 shipping with local pickup only from the !!!! end of nowhere, only Grimsby bidders no exceptions!!!11!!!one!!1. Usually pay immediately anyway, if it takes 7 days before posting with no real reason other than they laid it out in terms, would still buy but I'd leave appropriate feedback for being soooo sloooow especially after quick payment.0

Yes, quite. Trying to get into the habit of legalese as am considering taking a law conversion course in the new year. It's all this time spent hanging around on the eBay site - as an accountant by training, I find it's this part of the job that interests me most.
I guess each case stands and falls on its own merits; what I should have said really is that "there have been prosecutions for it in the past".:rotfl:"Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Oh dear my friend has just listed a DS on ebay it is full of his own t&c's and he ends the auction like this! I have tried to tell him but he won't listen!
The legal stuff...
You are bidding to buy - please don't mess me around. If you have under 5 feedback please send me a message first or I may remove your bid - the same goes for people with low feedback scores.
This is a fairly big package so my postage prices are justified and I am not ripping you off. It will be carefully wrapped and secured and I ALWAYS keep proof of postage.
I will offer First Class Recorded delivery postage as well as Standard First Class. I STRONGLY recommend you use Recorded delivery, but that is YOUR choice. I was going to offer Special Delivery but that would cost around £15+.
I must receive payment within 3 working days of auction end. Item will be shipped the next day of cleared payment.

Maybe you can send him the link to this forum, and the comments from very experienced sellers/buyers, which I'm sure will follow shortly.....
That's exactly the sort of stuff I (and others) were talking about.....0 -
I know, i have told him and he won't listen. This would put me off an auction straight away.0

Ironically recorded delivery doesn't really help anyone.0 -
It does not cost £15 to send a DS by Special Delivery. Providing it's in the normal sized box, should cost about £6 odd.

I've just listed my sons old bike on ebay for 99p free pick up, only because I didn't want to freecycle it and attract the local troll population.
Having read on here about people getting screwed over by buyers collecting then using Paypal's automatic refund policy, I'm requesting cash only even tho I have to include PP in the listing. The wording I've used is
"The default setting for this listing includes PayPal but for this item I can accept payment via cash on collection only.
This is only because some unscrupulous Ebayers use PayPal's automatic refund policy to defraud honest sellers.
If you win this item and pay me via PayPal then I will refund your money and contact you to arrange pick up and payment by cash."
Would this put you off? If someone wins it for 99p then they can have it for nothing as far as I'm concerned cos I just want rid, so long as they collect.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
