You offered 315, they wanted 330 but have made a counter offer which i imagine is around 322. So you've messed everyone about (or played it cool as you say) for the sake of £7K. If your buyers reduce their offer by £10K for being d!cked about or indeed pull out and you then get offered even less than that then never mind the hundreds you'd be down on rent, you'll be thousands down on lost capital!!! It's £7K more than you want to pay but they've lost £18K from asking price, so you've got the best deal out of the two of you.
Go with their counter offer and then you and everyone concerned can get on with their life. Do it today, right now and enjoy your new home!!!

OMG. I can well believe it.

You sound like a complete nightmare. If I was your buyer, there is absolutely no way I would be hanging on for four months. Some people on here seem to take absolutely no responsbility for their actions - it's usually those threads that begin with comments such as "OMG can you believe this !!!!!"

Imagine how your buyers must feel? Try putting yourselves in their place. For the sake of a few grand it looks like your buyers could pull out, meaning you loosing your purchase due to you 'fannying about'
  • Sorry but if I was your buyers I would have said forget it by now, and if I was the seller I would have said nob off!!

Suck it up, let your buyers have their house and if it really is your dream house pay the little extra! Otherwise stop moaning, take your house off the market and stop dicking everybody about.

maybe i should have been more specific so not to be demonised

we havnt got a mortgage so if we rent we will be hundreds out of pocket every month,

also when we sold our house my wife was able to transfer her area of work, now due to the credit crunch she has been told to stay put so it reduced the area of our search considerably as she is often on call.

we live in a cheap area so the amount of houses that come onto the market over £300k is actually less than 5% of homes offered for sale

yes i agree 4 months is a long time but we warned the buyers of the trouble we were having and the small area of our search,

our agents have been awful throughout so same question, if our buyers pull out can we change agents after giving notice

another tyre kicker your agents rubbish because he can not convince the peoples who house you want to buy drop their price, get a grip and get real your lucky to have a offer, your buyers are probably still looking now and i think has soon has they find somewhere elase they will drop you as you are not living in the real world.

Totally agree with Katie. If I were your buyers I would have pulled out of the purchase after about 2 months. 4 months to look for a house is understandable, but why should your buyers put up with it? Presumably your buyers have buyers and what if they lose them due to your reluctance ot part with a few £k more than you want to.

Do you actually realise you are the Royal PITA not your buyers or the people you are buying from?

And as for getting your EA to talk to the EA of the people you want to buy from, !!!!!!! your EA are there for your sale, not for your purchase .

PS No doubt you'll think we're all being very unreasonable here as you come across as the type of person that is always right ;)

I m glad i posted on here as obvioulsy the thread is full of experts who can correctly value a property without seeing it.

ive negotiated several properties and always to my way of thinking, maybe thats why i do not have a mortgage and some of my critics here obvioulsy do

regardless of my position and reluctance, or the fact we had two deaths in our family since our sale a fact that i didnt want to mention , my point is the estate agent should not have bid on my behalf,

If you condone that type of tactic then expected to be treated the same way

care about our buyers ? i only care about my own family, their wealth and health ... nothing else matters to me

dont bother replying , i will not,

Eeeeeeee, i'm starting to feel sorry for you now, you're getting a right hammering.

I don't think any of us here are meaning to redicule your, frankly, insane vista of the World and how the mechanics of house buying operate, with such blood thirsty lust and vigour. But you come across as a wholely ( or Holey ) great dithering constipated badger. And that if all the major themeparks in the World were to join forces and build the Worlds BIGGEST themepark, perhaps the size of Belgium (but not as big as Wales), then they would unanimously agree to build this incedibley large mass of steel, lumber, and brightly coloured plastic around your torso and have the entire thing placed upon ballbearings and have a thousand steam trains attached to make everything revolve around YOU.

But that's not how we want you to feel.....we just come across like that.....Can you believe it?

    But good luck anyway.
