oh - and as i was so premature having them there was no time to have an epidural and never really wanted one anyway - i just had the gas and air and they were born within 14minutes of me going into labour - 9 minutes apart. very easy.....

we had ( all right i lie, wifey had ) twins 6 years ago,and because we live on a tiny island we had to spend the last month staying at aberdeen hospital where they have accomadation for islanders.Well you can imagine the looks we got walking round the city with wifey and a HUGE:eek: lump ( no not me  )
    All went well,three days overdue, 7lbs 8oz boy 7lbs 10oz girl 7 minutes apart,pain free :D

Ahem - mine (6lb 6oz boy and 5lb 6oz breech girl) were only 4 minutes apart  I take no credit, they were fairly small and I had a brilliant midwife!
Your delivery times are recorded on the birth certificate, so the oldest is legally identified. Really not much help inthe case of identical twins once the hospital bands come off!

LOL I expect many an identical twin has unintentionally swapped identities with it's sibling in the first few weeks, for some often more than once, maybe :-)

Our second twin had a strawberry mark on her temple and we joked it was included to help us figure out which was which. Now they are bigger it is much easier to tell them apart, though we are still not sure whether they are identical or fraternal, they have some very similar features and some quite distinct differences.

As through this life you travel,
    you meet some funny men
Some rob you with a six-gun,
and some with a fountain pen

Many many congratulations, as a mother of twins (b & g, now 17 1/2 yo) myself, I can truthfully say that being the mother of twins is a real privilege!

    Give them all my love
