Oh, believe me I ALSO buy seeds! Been doing that for YEARS!
Thank you, though. I already know about Trade Winds Fruit, they do have some amazing stuff, don't they? I'm a bit wary of buying from outside the EU, though, have you ever had problems with customs?
Thanks again. Now I'm off to check out my Watch List on eBay!
It would be great some day to be growing the likes of cherimoya and papaya in my, errr, orangerie... but that would require a serious injection of cash. Oranges I can afford... an orangerie, sadly not.
I've never had problems with customs when ordering seeds from America, have used three different companies and have never had any customs issues.R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was. :sad:0 -
In my continued attempt to shop local and avoid Mr T I went to local greengrocer today and he sold me a box of tomatoes for a fiver! Well over 10 lbs and am making ketchup as we speak. It keeps me out of mischief and I feel good when I have made something. it smells good and everything other than the toms came out of the stock cupboard, even put half a tube of puree in that had been lying about for a long time.
Still attempting to pack up the house for the builders moving in on the 12th November. dd has promised to cook for us the nights we have no kitchen, other than that am freezing stuff that can be defrosted in the microwave. I have found lots of interesting things in the process. Just finished putting all my dried stuff in baby milk tins (thank you Michael) and jars so it looks very organised for once. Been to the tip and came back angry at all the things I could see that could have been got rid of better ie freecycle or proper recycling. Its sad what people throw awayperfectly good furniture and picture frames. They cannot even be bothered putting stuff in the right bays, so a man has to wander round fishing things out and moving them, but I guess its good because they have a need for workers there.
went to the pound shop and got Harrison ( step grandson) a Bob the builder art kit and what looks like a little traffic cone with pictures to colour and crayons, am very pleased with them. Also found 2 mache initials for Harrison and Michael that I got from Hobbycraft a while ago, am going to paint them and stick some puffed up animal stickers on to put on the bedroom wall. Am off to finish a throw that Dd wanted making, am on the last lap now just one row of granny squares left to do!
hope every one is well and doing ok this damp and chilly weekend :beer:Clearing the junk to travel light

Wow a fiver for so many toms, that is amazing value!
Agree 100% about what's dumped, makes me sad. There's enough to go around if only we'd share things out and not waste what we've got.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

Oh Wow thank you very much for that link Mardatha, I can see a Sunday spent reading through all of the posts on there- very much a me site! and I'm sure I can pick up some great tips to save even more money especially as I'm at a point where I'm considering giving up my current well paid job and going to a not so well paid job a couple of nights a week - but it means I can be at home with my Children and be a proper housewifey, much to my hubbies happiness!!
