And having money is a worry in itself. Becaue you're always worrying you're going to lose it . Or have it stolen, or have your kids kidnapped, or or or. (how the hell would I know ...I never had any LOL !)
I just told the RV that he can have a Jag if he lets me have chickens. I put my most innocent face on too (:) this one). He said ok. When we win the lottery, I get a Jag and you get a hen hoose.:rotfl:

No no no! You have to turn things around so YOU get your own way. Get the chickens first and tell him that the money you'll make from selling the eggs will be put into a Jag Fund, specially for him. That way, you're happy. And he's happy cos he thinks he's getting his car - even though he never will. Job done :rotfl:

I think my parents do the worrying for me in that respect....:rotfl:

My fathers very first comment when I managed to buy a house for myself was "Don't forget to make sure that it always stays in your name and remains YOUR house - just in case you ever got married to the wrong person..." "A man might want you for your money now...." I did have a few suspicions about one or two men I went out with after that thinking "Oh...good...that would be my accommodation dealt with if I stayed with her.......and I wouldnt have to bother myself...." ('tis true that I would never have expected a man to contribute towards my mortgage or pay for any work on the house - I would have just expected him to pay half the bills).

My response was along the lines of "WHAT money? I'm still poor...." - but I have duly borne that comment in mind and made sure that I've taken his advice.:)

BTW Mardatha - you're no trade unionist you aren't.....Trading off a Jag for a hen house....you want to put a lot longer "list on the table" of what you expect if he ever gets his Jag...

Yeah, a Jag must be worth one chicken house plus a few raised veg beds at least! :D Seriously - might RV be interested if the idea was put to him that growing veg, keeping chickens would save money which could be put into a nice-car--for-RV fund (with maybe a bit diverted for knitting suppliies!).
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Nah you don't need that many just follow the ginnyknit guide to feeding and 3 chickens will lay 4 eggs :rotfl:I nearly fainted - but boy did they make a fuss so I would go and find them.

Right got to go and give them their dinner - potato peel and veg scraps all round, they had dessert first today, leftover ginger cake

Just got told off for trying to e mail cake , Dh says it bu**ers up the machinery:rotfl:Im going to bed now, cannot walk much as Arthur (as in arthuritis ) is in my hip today and Im a bit wobbly. Happily a friend turned up today with a bucket of blackberries as she knows how frustrated I have been not being able to get out and forage some. So managed to do some jam. Then we moved the chicken coop across the garden for the winter - boy it looks snug in there - just room for a visitor! Found the hedgehog under the coop again like last time we moved it - but this time he had a complete family with him so covered them up so they can find a place for the winter at their leisure.

think I may be losing it as I found 5 eggs in coop today and we have 3 hens???? turns out I didnt take any out yesterday :rotfl:

Habve booked 2 nights away next week -yay me - we havent had a break for a couple of years due to cash flow...ing away. Am off to Newcastle via the Angel of the North and Im so excited.:j:j:j
