Well having a Jag would bring with its own set of downsides ... expensive services, fear of it being damaged, envy from other people. I truly believe that money and possesions don't bring happiness. When we crave a Jag or whatever our particular fancy is, then I think it's not the object itself we want, it's what we think it will bring us - comfort, respect, status etc. And most of those things are illusions anyway!
Very very tired so sorry if I'm not making sense.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

I might be out of order here but I love beautiful cars and would love an old jag. I was caught smelling the interior of my mates Morris Minor last week and always pat the car as I pass it. Im sorry, its obviously not a pen*s extension cos Im an old lady, Ive had my midlife crisis with partying and going to heavy rock gigs its just cars ( and long haired young rockers) I love them. But most importantly I am O/S and totally practical so unless Me Dh and the kids were all solvent and comfortable I will have to lust from afar :rotfl:
I would have thought Mardatha that as you were going to pay your leccy bill RV had enough proof there alone to see that there was little chance of him getting a jag! Unless - cunning plan - you bribe him with the jag to help you become self sufficient and get chickens etc.Clearing the junk to travel light

Errrr...I detect a slight flaw in that argument - money can SOMETIMES buy health - it can buy the very best medical care/diet/environment/etc possible....My own health would be RATHER a lot worse if I hadnt thrown money at it to deal with it (having decided the NHS simply didnt care whether I was healthy or no - but I did...).
In my book money is something to be used to protect oneself - ie to avoid things like avoidable ill health/working once one has reached retirement age or if one is too ill to work/living in a bad area - but I'm not that concerned about possessions or the type of experiences that cost a lot of money to buy.
But...nope..it doesnt always work - even wealthy people can be ill for years and then die prematurely.0
