Just had a look at savings - clearly we're going to have to put in some real work on finances if we're to get as far as making any mortgage over-payments this side of... well, at a guess April. April is also the month we're most likely to get a big drop in income as DH's job will almost certainly be reviewed by then at the latest. Could be earlier.

Off to buy cheap mince and sauce for dinner. :)

Well, my brain isn't fuctioning very well at the moment but it seems perfectly sensible to me.

Are you going to mention Evernote.com to ani?:rotfl:

Thanks HL :) What makes sense to me doesn't always make sense to other people and I'm not convinced that's down to my astounding intelligence :D.

Mention Evernote.com to Ani? Erm... let me think about that one. Am I at a safe distance? Probably. Am I feeling mean? No. Maybe not then :D

Very much not an NSD today.

We had lunch out to celebrate our anniversary, which was gorgeous and we will certainly go there again, but not for about three months as we need to let lunch go down first. (So probably quite MS really:rotfl:)

On to the garden centre to get a tray of flowers for the wall baskets by the kitchen door: £3.50 to provide winter colour has to be worth it. Then into their cafe for a drink (naughty but nice) and resisted buying some of the artificial flowers however good they were.

Home via the High Street to try to buy a light shade, unsuccessfully. Not that we lack light shade-buying skills, but we didn't see any we liked, anywhere. If this goes on much longer we will have to start telling friends that it's because of the environment / what Kate Middleton does / out of concern for lemmings / because of the phase of the moon that we have no living room light shade.

And then the supermarket for kids' teas, but that wasn't too damaging.

DH has now taken the car for its MOT, so tomorrow won't be an NSD either.

I'm not missing my lists - every few hours I go over to look at them and they are still there. Yay lists. :)

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs miggy
Anniversaries are days when you shouldn't worry about being MSE.
Glad you had a great time.

I love garden centre cafes - ours does huge cream scones :D

Yay for lists. I have a book full. Sometimes I even look at them :rotfl:

LOL, Hovel Lady - a kindred spirit! I have to admit (don't tell Ani!) that I even keep a few old lists :D though I also get satisfaction from throwing some away.

    Huge
cream scones sound rather more-ish. Ours does slices of a sort of Rocky Road cake full of marshmallows and, by the look of it, maltesers and various other chocolatey things. I have never dared try it (though if you find a North Yorkshire Hovel I will let you know where to find it!)

And never fear - we didn't worry about being MS - not too much anyway. :D I can see we'll have to make our way to that pub again though, which isn't very MS. :)

After discussing my procrastinating tendencies with DH yesterday, I didn't put the computer on first thing - but have discovered I don't need it to procrastinate!
Sat at the table doing puzzles and made myself late taking the guinea pig to vet's for X-rays. Now I have to keep myself busy enough not to worry, but having ticked a few items off the list I've ground to a halt and need to regroup and carry on.
Hence a bit of a list to tell myself I have got somewhere and will get further.

Have rung friend to rearrange coffee (today too full)
Found birthday date and thankfully haven't missed it
    Errands for Mum:
    • cash cheque
    • pay paper bill
    • post cheque
    • order name tags for clothes
    • ? order address labels
    Shopping
    visit Mum, take:
    • map and bluetack
    • hole punch
    • stuff already in bag
    • drink for me
    • card for her to sign
Enough for now, have had some lunch, need to motivate myself to get moving.

Today's been hard work but I got there!

Rang a friend off my 'must do coffee list'.

Guinea pig is home and being kept under observation for a couple of weeks (and still looking lively and eating eagerly). He may need an op but it's a case of balancing the risks so the vet and I decided to see how he does and ifthe problems return.

Mum is visited and doing very well. :)

I've finally managed to pay her cheque in, pay her bills and deliver most of the stuff that needs delivering. Phew. I also brought a bag of newspapers back (she passes them to us to go in the rabbit hutch) and have put them straight in the shed instead of cluttering the place up.

Dh, bless him, is making tea as I'm off to work overnight.

£9.69 on food shopping today. Oh, and Mum gave me some little cakes so I have a nice midnight snack. :) Will try to save some for tomorrow!

Good news about your mum and guinea pig :)

Enjoy your cakes and cooked-by-someone else tea.

    Thank you, I did. :)

I'm trying not to feel bad (after all I got a lot done yesterday) but I forgot to get DH an anniversary card - and he remembered mine! I was walking down the street yesterday thinkning about it but there was jsut so much to remember that it 'fell off the top'.
So I'm off out soon to get one. :)

Am hoping Ani's okay - all quiet since the posts about the assault. :(

Hope you find a nice/good/appropriate card for DH.

Yes, wondering where Ani is too.
