Good to have you back - you've missed an "interesting" time on my diary.

Please write more lists, I like your lists :D

I am sure the lists will be back - it's such hard work remembering all the little things that need to be juggled and there's always been a part of me that thought everything belonged in a list somewhere (sorry Ani!).

For my work I had to do a short course on autism and my colleagues and I concluded that there is a bit of autism in all of us. I haven't got to the bottom of it but I definitely have a strong tendency to want to dot all the 'I's and cross all the 'T's... and tick things off lists while my heart is elsewhere.

Greengages were absolutely delicious, stewed with sugar and served with custard.
Cheque still not paid in - I'm always too late or too early for the bank.
DD has managed to come down with four sicknesses at once and spent the last few days in bed. Today is her first day up - and her work asked her to work 9 hours tomorrow! And another shift on Sunday! Meanwhile most of her tests have come back clear but the one for coeliac disease will take a while to do. Of course it may be something else they haven't tested for but at least it's being done.
The poor guinea pig is very sick and on daily antibiotics but I don't think the vet holds out much hope. However the GP remains (amazingly) perky and is eating well so maybe there's some hope. If not... well, I don't want it to suffer. :(
Housework got done, but not painting. Lots of paper thrown out but most of it still to go. Will plough on.
DS wants computer so I will try to come back later.

sending hugs to your piggie from my two, they also send their squeaks :)

my nephew has aspergers and when my sister researched it we all decided that we all had elements of it in us.

    Thanks Lemon Tree. :)

GP is currently tucked up in a cosy box with his friend and appreciates the squeaks. :)

Autism's a spectrum, isn't it, so I guess it makes sense if we're all on it somewhere. It's something I would like to understand better. (I should put it on a list somewhere...)

    Don't, I'll cry.

Cry if it helps.:sad:... or resort to chocolate but I don't think that's your thing?

Your diary will be very much missed but it's already done a lot of good and the blog will enable you to post what you need to.

And thanks for keeping tabs on me and my lists :). Am I List Lady? I hope not - got to be more to life than
    1. shower
    2. wash dishes
    3. laundry
    4. hoover
    5. shopping
    ...hasn't there?!

  • No, chocolate not my thing. The tears are likely to come when exOH is out later.

Yes, you ARE Lady of the Lists :D

Mind you, I have a few of my own at the moment too

    So: today.

Woke up in a bit of a miserable mood, convinced it was nearly 7am (am doing a waking night at work tonight) and various things hanging over me, most of which turned out to be clouds not rain, and it was 9.30 so I actually did very well for sleep.

Been mooching, doing suduko and reading a dolls' house catalogue that turned up in the post yesterday when DH came in and told me the house on the corner appears to be digging up their garden. I don't know if I mentioned this house has been bought recently and I summoned up courage to ask if, as they were putting in hard standing, I could rescue some of the white violets I've coveted for years - and he said yes. So I dashed down with a fork and bucket and dug up a couple of pots full which are now planted in some nice deep pots at home.

GP is looking normal and possibly a bit better today but another visit to vet in a couple of hours, which will go on hanging over me until we have a resolution one way or the other. I did make a bed of shredded newspaper as the vet and I decided the hay was possibly the source of a cut on his skin - then I put the hay elsewhere because it's important for piggies to have access to hay. So what does he do? Moves out of his bed and onto the pile of hay. Ah well.

This house is far from company-ready so I must do some more decluttering and also get back to playing the piano.

Nearly at the end of this week's money and DH has got a discounted beef joint for tomorrow which I don't think is going to be a full portion for all the people we expect to feed! Roll out the Yorkshires! I might put some pickling onions in to roast with the meat (they are soooo nice) and see if I can get some peppers too.

A footnote: DH went to do a home visit for work the other day. The old lady looked at him and said: 'I thought it was going to be a lady so I got some tomatoes to give her'. She gave them to him instead, but we are still wondering why gender makes a difference in the giving of tomatoes?

Personally I never give tomatoes to any men of my aquaintance. Cucumbers now, that's entirely different :rotfl:

(sorry, trying to lighten my mood and hi-jacking your diary to do it :o)
